Why is it that hotels with a captive audience (e.g. near the airport) think that it is acceptable to give a poor customer experience? Had a number of business meetings planned at this hotel this morning. Arrived at the hotel and there was no parking available. The car park was barrier controlled. After discovering there was no where to park, there was no way to get out, as the exit barrier "help" button was broken with a notice that you had to go to reception. Simple - so long as there aren't 10 cars stuck in a small car park, unable to park to go to reception, and no way of getting out. Dumped the car blocking in a number of cars and went to reception. Requested an exit ticket as there was no where to park which was met with a "shrug of the shoulders" from the reception staff. Moved all my meetings elsewhere and won't be returning.
Great location for Luton airport and trains to London. Staff were excellent and went beyond the call of duty. The breakfast bar was great. The price was very competitive. I booked another night on my return leg from Naples. Thanks
this hotel has friendly & very professional staff. The location is perfect for the airport and just over the road from the trai station, although if you have luggage I'd still recommend getting a taxi as you need to walk around to the reception which takes about 15 minutes. Food isn't the greatest to be fair and the service in the restaurant was a bit of a shambles with no one really knowing who ordered what. The rooms were really nice and clean but if I stayed here again, which I would, I would eat elsewhere.
Staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and rooms are well equipped although the bed is quite hard (might be suitable for some). Close views of the end of the runway from some rooms - great for aviation enthusiasts. Food was very average, no room service, limited to a snack menu and no fruit for guests. £8 (approx) taxi ride to airport - 5-10 minute journey.
Bed was very very hard. Ugh. Construction going on across the street. Staff nice enough. Small rooms but clean. Next to train station. No fridges in room. Breakfast free but not particularity exciting.
General situation of the hotel is ok if you like looking over a building site to the front and a main line railway directly behind plus on the flight path of Luton Airport and the aircraft are very low over the hotel. My heart sank as did those of others that arrived with me for the stay. It is a very basic reception area but clean and comfortable. We were greeted by the staff, one of them had problems understanding English but the other was somewhat better. We got our key card and went up to our room on the first floor. There are two large lifts which are very good. Our room was large, looking out to the front of the building. The first thing I noticed was the condition of the duvets on the bed, mine in particular, the contents in the duvet had broken up to form numerous lumps and bumps!! I complained about this and they did change it but still the same. The bed itself was clean but the mattress was rather like sleeping on a brick but I was so tired I was asleep in no time that evening. The very large bathroom with a shower was excellent. They are obviously trying to improve the standards as we had a new kettle, ironing board, iron and hairdryer which was very good The bar was reasonable but the staff were foreign with a poor command of English and had little or no idea on which glasses to serve the drinks in! The restaurant is very much like a school canteen in layout, very basic. Plates and trays everywhere except for where they should be near to the various courses, this caused chaos when several people appeared at the same time. The cutlery was in tubs but to get the items out you had to take out by the blade of the knife etc. handles were not accessible so not very safe or hygienic. The soup ran out, cutlery ran out as did the bread and some main course items. The staff were confused and could not always understand what people were saying. It was rediculous obviously the staff are only used to coping with small numbers at a time and thus need to improve if they are expecting larger parties to stay there. Plus when we got the meal it had no imagination, bulk standard heated up pre prepared food with little taste which was not brought out steaming hot and was not helped by the cold plates we had to use. Certainly not what I would expect in any hotel. Food overall was very poor. Once we finished our meal nobody came to clear our table so I and several others pilled our plates etc. on a tray and cleared them away. No attempt was made to clean our table. All in all a very bad experience which we had the following night also. Breakfast was very basic but ok. The staff obviously need more training and a better knowledge of English would make a great difference. Hilton need to get their act together here!!
What a shame that a reputable hotel group allows such a corrupt crooked car rental company called Green Motion rent space on their premises!!!. Arrived at the hotel to pick up the car that I had prepaid with additional insurance. Upon completing all the forms I was told that they did not accept my electron Visa card and was advised that I would need to speak to their manager. I large woman came into the office and advised me that they don't allow payments for a deposit holding policy on a visa electron and it's on the small print, however, as a favour I could pay an additional 200 pounds and they would release the car to me. I argued the case that why would I have 200 quid more for them to accept my card ??? She couldn't provide a valid answer back so I refused and left. Upon waiting for a friend to pick me up, the same lady was called to inspect three cars that had been returned, and on each occasion, she went straight to the back left wheel rim which had a very small dent and charged all three customers!!! It seems that this is a scam by green motion to gain more charges for unknowingly customers!!! Will never recommend this group in future !!!!!!!!! Crooks !!!!! Nasty rip off company for tourists!!!!!
We stayed for one night at the end of our holiday as our flight got into Luton pretty late. Our expectations were pretty low as airport hotels are usually so-so. Well we were actually pleasantly surprised! Our room was spacious and spotless with an immaculate bathroom, featuring a large, powerful shower. Breakfast the following morning offered a great choice of food and the quality was good. The waffle making machine seemed particularly popular. I'd recommend going down to breakfast before 9am if you can though as seating was somewhat limited bearing in mind the number of guests. Continental breakfast is served from 4:30am if you have an early flight. The bar is also open 24/7. We didn't take advantage of this as we were shattered upon arrival, but there were lots of others who did. We did not hear any noise from our room though. It is worth noting that it is a cash-free bar and any drinks or snacks that you buy will be added to your room tab. Parking was also easy and simply added to our room bill. We'd definitely consider staying again.
The hotel was very modern, very clean and conveniently located as we arrived into Luton late at night and didn't have to travel far. There is a bar downstairs which was great but the only staff were the receptionists so they had to juggle reception and the bar which meant there was quite a significant wait whenever you wanted served. Breakfast in the morning was okay - the quantity was fine but the food wasn't very warm which was a bit off putting. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the hotel if you're needing to be close to Luton or simply arriving late at night to avoid travelling into London at a late time.
Stayed overnight for our flight from Luton, hotel really cheap includes breakfast which is a cold buffet from 4am including a wide selection with fruit, cereals, bread, waffles, croissants lots to choose from. Apparently cooked breakfast available from 6am. The hotel was really clean, basic but that's all we needed, quiet room and friendly staff. It's only a few minutes from the airport but the traffic is a nightmare around the airport so ensure you give yourself plenty of time!
