I think the rating of this property may have been skewed. It is a decent place with good staff, however the area surrounding is quite rough. I unfortunately was unable to stay for the night I paid for, I was a bit intimidated and felt less than safe. My car is new and I felt it stood out as a target for a break in. I left within minutes of checking in for my peace of mind. It's unfortunate that a once Grand Hotel is located in a less than desirable location. Not trying to be rude or disrespectful, however it is my opinion, that a 62 year single white male does not safely fit into this environment. Afterwards I looked at the reviews, trying to figure out why a 7 hotel was rated such. I saw as many 10's as I did 3"s, seemed the 10's may be disingenuous.
All good
Although the staff member checking me in was friendly, the check-in process was painfully slow, which was frustrating after a 15 hour day of driving. When I got settled into my room, which had been renovated recently and seemed fairly clean, I discovered that the tv did not work, and in trying to check the cables to make sure it was plugged in properly, I discovered there was a large lizard lurking behind the tv cabinet. I tried, unsuccessfully, to catch him, so I gathered my things and went back to the front desk to ask for a new room (it’s nearly midnight at this point), but the staff member at the desk offered to fetch a broom and attempt to help me catch the lizard. I agreed to give that a try, even though I was getting more tired by this point and just wanted to be able to settle in for the night and relax. This was an exercise in futility, as we could not catch the lizard, so he finally agreed to move me to a new room. The second room was clean and decent enough for a short night of sleep, but I felt a little jittery or creeped out after the first room experience. The bed was comfy for a peaceful night’s sleep, and I had a hot shower in the morning. I stopped in the lobby on my way out for a free cup of coffee advertised on the hotel website, but there was none available. Even though this place was cheap, I’m not sure it was worth the value that I paid. I also think customer service could have been better (perhaps comping the room after the lizard incident.)
Great location for working in Beaumont.

I drive a 2022 Tesla and live on the property and NO ONE has ever tried to break into my car, so your Hyandia was safe, lol!
All good
Thank you, Rafael!

Hi Chelsea, I would like to thank you for the feedback, really hate that your stay was not up to par. As far as my agent, sounds like he went above and beyond to help you and to make you comfortable, and I applaud him for his outstanding customer service skills! And for the free coffee, which does and will run out at times, why didn't you just ask if we could brew a fresh pot for you? We have one of those lighting-speed coffee pots, it literally takes 30 seconds for it to make, and all we had to do was hit a button. No need to comp your room, because we were able to remedy the situation for you, we can't control mother nature and her little creatures sneaking into our hotel from time to time. I sure hope that your trip gets better for you! Happy Thanksgiving!
Great location for working in Beaumont.
