Great seaside getaway for 2 nights with sea view room. Room was big, can even park a stroller inside without taking up too much space. Bathroom is large and spacious, would have been better if there was a bathtub. Nice balcony but didnt get to use it as we did not want our child to be bitten by mosquitoes. Insect repellent and sprays are provided though. Lots of sea sports activities to keep us occupied.
Everything was great, including the room cleanliness, SPA service and etc. My friend and I had a good time. However, we would suggest to improve the accuracy of the information shared by receptionist. For instance, swimming pool closed at 5.30pm while we were told by the receptionist that we could swim at our own risk at any timing.
I am currently staying at this place for a new year party and let me be very clear. I paid 270 SGD for this room. The room is sea facing and that's the only charm. What I get is Poor service Dirty room The a.c. tripping all night and I had to manually switch it on thrice in one night The room doesn't even have basic amenities like a moisturiser or a comb They don't even replenish your amenities like a paste or body wash every night My room was not cleaned. I had to ask them to clean the room and still in 2 days the washrooms were not cleaned If you order anything forget it that you will get it for the next 1 hour In a nutshell this service is expected from a 50 SGD room and not a 270 SGD room. Stay on your own risk.
The minor glitches was that during the first day breakfast, we have no one attending to us and we have to move around to find our own seats. Only later, we had to approach the hostess to assist us to find a table of 5 as big tables are full. When we asked to merge a table of 4 and table of 2 to accomodate us, we were told it was not possible and we had to seat seperately. Also on that same day, we called for an extra pillow as the pillow provided for the extra bed was too thin, and my sister had a back ache and neck strain during sleep because of the thin pillow and mattress. When we asked for the extra pillow, the operator on the other line informed that they will send it up shortly, but we did not receive any extra pillow at all for our entire stay. On the positive side, view was excellent.. got my rooms with a great view. The room was clean nicely upon arrival and during room make up. The security guards who are patrolling the area are very friendly. Shout out to this specific guard(he mentioned he only started solo work 4days ago), for entertaining my dad for a short chat. Also I bumped into another guard, whom sadly i did not manage to get his name, whom approached me and inform me of what activities can be done in the resort, starting a small talk. Personalised service! Thank you very much!
I traveled with my family last Dec 16-21, 2017. I booked the room through agoda. The Riani wing deluxe was newly renovated. Bathroom is new. What I like about it is you have your own verandah facing the ocean. Staff is great and accommodating. Food is good but a bit pricey. The beach area, for the whole week we stayed at Turi Beach, it has only been cleaned once. The hotel is situated in the remote part of nongsa. They have shuttles to and from the Nagoya area. Also, if you want to do a city tour, they have a contact person at a travel agency But you need to make sure to get the itinerary, as they only brought us to all the shopping centers in Batam.
The only plus points are friendly and welcoming staff and beautiful scenery. The room is generally clean, but could be better. We were disappointed to see used plates and dishes uncleared along the walkway from morning till night. Nothing fantastic at the beach bars, suitable for non-fussy stayers...
I made my booking directly with the hotel as I'm always suspicious of cheap deals on hotel portals. Upon checking in, the procedure to procure payment for the 3 days and two side-by-side rooms was prompt. However, we were not given even a room number to tag our bags to and had to wait from noon to past 2pm before one of two rooms was ready. This happened only after I approached the front desk after umpteenth calls to check on the status only to be told they were running at full capacity and that delayed the time to get rooms refreshed and turned around for new guests. Yet when the attentive front desk gentleman checked, one room was ready. Upon checking in, the room smelled musky but an attendant appeared with a room spray and later returned to spray the room again. The only satisfaction we got was getting great beachfront rooms that were practically 10 steps to the beach. However, we see only brown seawater that is a sign of severe pollution. Surprisingly, there are no beach loungers like other beachfront hotels and what is considered a private beach here is a sorry sight. Perhaps the hotels caters more to Muslim holiday makers and it seems the need to be sensitive to thus group. But it makes no provision for sunlovers to bask in the sun. What saved the day was the promptness of room service. We requested a table with a tablecloth for Christmas dinner and this was delivered almost immediately. There's much the hotel can do to attract sunlovers at a higher rate if old beat up room furniture are replaced, a gym is put in place, the large sea-facing function room on the 3rd floor turned into a tea room with jazz music instead of leaving it looking abandoned, seafront dining with beer and pizzas, etc. Perhaps offering low prices on hotel portals help to keep the hotel at full capacity but it hardly makes that all the staff are working very hard to satisfy guests in a very rundown place. I had been to Montigo and felt I wanted something closer to the ocean and to nature but even the beach is polluted. We are planning to leave early as a result.
The resort is definitely good for a short getaway for family with children and couples. All rooms are facing the sea but some at 3rd levels are blocked by trees. Rooms - clean & spacious but could be a better experience if the balconies ny lights have switch instead of sensor. The lack of elevator can be a deal breaker Would have appreciate if the staffs could inform of the conditions and views that one will get depending on the locations of the rooms. The hotel should mentioned on the limits of its hotel amenities such as the lack of elevators, steps & no ramps. Staffs are of minimum standard revive but nothing more should be expected. Its good for a stay in with a couple of watersports activities but for me, it will be first and last visit. The restaurant Taming Sari seafood dinner buffet should not be called seafood when the only seafood is the BBQ prawns. The overall food is good but the name is misleading. Breakfast is a standard international good for all. Definitely commended Ms Anis (during breakfast buffet) for her helpfulness and cheery personality.
There are shuttle services provided for hotel guest from the ferry terminal to the resort. It is very convenient. Welcome drinks were served to us upon arrival. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and it’s very quiet at night. Swimming pools were closed as early as 6pm and we did not had a chance to use that facilities. Alternatively, they do provide water sports in the resort as well. The staffs are able to call a taxi for us immediately and it would take up to around 45 minutes from the resort to the city area (Nagoya Hill). Lastly, do remember to bring mosquito repellent during your visit.
We have stayed at a number of these secluded resorts in different countries. Turi is probobly the nicest in several ways. As with all of these places they have some quirks that you need to accept to fully enjoy the experience. Turi is part of the Nongsa resorts, and is a vast property and extremely openly and spaciously built. The design gives a certain grandour to the place, high ceelings, a huge lobby, the big deck of the Island bar and the 200m pier. We stayed in the newer Tintra wing (4th floor) with beautyful rooms. Spacious with wonderful views and well maintained. Probobly the nicest part of the resort is the staff. I do not honestly know how you find people this friendly and enthusistic. Make sure you eat at the Nogusaya Tepanyaki restaurant. I would give them 3 stars, meaning that the resort is worth a trip just to be able to eat there. Then to the quirks. I will spend more time on these as they are likely to define how you enjoy this wonderful place: - For western visitors the hardest thing to get used to, as always, is the asian upper class, whichwas 90% of the guests. They are typically totally egocentric and have no manners at all. They do not even bother to look at the hard working staff, and needless to say thanking them is not part of their upbringing. - The Nongsa resorts are TOTALLY secluded. This means that unlike most other places, there are NO local restaurants or shops at a reasonable distance. So you get to eat in the same restaurants, and do the same walks every morning. This is exactly what we wanted for the beginning of our vacation, but I understand it can be frustrating. - The surroundings are the most beatuful I have seen, part of it is due to the lush vegetation. This effectively means that, even though the resort has a huge maintanace staff, there will be leaves piling up occationally, and you are likely to get mosquitoes in your room if you keep the door open and the lights on. What a surprise:) - In a similar fashion, the resort cannot escaåe the closeness to Singapore. This means that no level of cleaning will keep the beaches compleyely prestine. - You will end up paying a lot, especially for drinks, as there is no competition, but that is always the case in these upscale secluded places.
