The hotel was nice and clean. A bit crowded - there are 5 floors with 7 rooms each (at least at my floor there were), with the corridor in a somewhat-trapezoid shape. There is one elevator, which is a bit noisy. Staying at the 5th floor I could hear every start and stop of the elevator. It was also out of order for a few hours on my first day. The room was small. There was a shower (no bath), plywood floor, and the bed used to move a little when sitting on it, but it was comfortable. The blanket was one of the best I had in hotels for a while - very light and very warming. WiFi was always available and with fast Internet. The service was quite good. On the last day I had to leave late and they let me stay for a couple of hours more. The area is not the very center of Barcelona, but it's still vibrant and close to many restaurants and supermarkets, two-minute walk from the nearest metro station.
We booked this hotel because it was one of two hotels in the city offered with our budget travel voucher. We weren't expecting much and it did not give us much. However, I must first say that the staff were ALL extremely helpful, kind and tried very hard to make us happy with our stay. So staff scores highly. Unfortunately, I suspect the staff has never had the pleasure of staying in room 26, as it was extremely smoky inside. We opened the windows, but at freezing temps it was difficult to keep them open for long. Even the inside of the closet smelled of cigarettes. It was the only room available with two separate beds, so we were forced to endure 4 nights. We even bought our own air freshener and sprayed the room daily but it just wouldn't go away. Aside from that, the beds were adequate and the bathroom clean, though the decor was very old fashioned and worn.
Came alone for a week's getaway from UK. Simple train journey from Airport to city centre and then used the excellent metro system. Short walk from Hospital Clinic Metro Station on Line 5. The hotel is twinned with Aston and they are linked by a basement corridor. Dining room is in Hotel Aston. Sunotel Junior has a Burger King on one side and a 24/7 general store on the other. 24 hour friendly and helpful reception. Breakfast need not be pre-booked and only cost me 9 Euros (normally 12). I had a single room which was a decent size with ensuite shower/bath and toilet. There was a TV but I didn't watch anything. The free wifi has a good signal and uncomplicated access. The window can open (which is essential for me at night. Everything was clean, well maintained and serviced. Maid comes in each day. Buffet breakfast catered to all tastes and was freshly stocked. The coffee was good. Felt relaxed and unhurried. Just what I wanted.
worth so more than the 2* it's given! Stayed for 5 nights in December with my boyfriend, the rooms are small but cosy and very clean. Location is great, far enough away from touristy locations but with plenty to do and see in the local area. Popular spots like nou camp and sagrada familia can be walked to if you don't mind a longish walk like we did. Staff are all very friendly with the man on reception being very helpful on our arrival giving us maps, directions etc... would defo stay again
This hotel is really amazing. Great location, so easy to be reached from the airport. It is spotlessly clean and I find everything comfortably set up for the guests. The staff is extremely helpful, they can’t do enough for you. I want to give an extra credit to Marco who meet and greeted us. Awesome reception man who provided us with helpful info and tips. We love the place
Only saw the reception of this building! We’d booked to stay here for two days but they upgraded us to their sister hotel for free (round the corner or through the basement corridor (not as grim as it sounds).
Stayed 3 nights at the end of October in this small, but comfortable hotel. The public rooms and bedrooms are basic and very clean. Also the staff were friendly and extremely helpful giving us advice about public transport. There is a wide choice of cafes and restaurants in the local area, and the nearest metro station is under 10 minutes walk away. A good base for exploring Barcelona. Will certainly stay there again when I am next in the city.
This is a v nice hotel. The reception staff are very friendly and the hotel itself is clean and comfortable. The room (a twin) was smallish but absolutely fine for our needs. The metro (Hospital Clinic) is a 5 min walk and then it's quick to get to all the main areas and sites. The roof top swimming pool and jacuzzi (on top of the adjoining Sunotel Aston, which is accesible via a basement corridor) were lovely after a hot day of sightseeing, with a great view out to the National Art Museum on Montjuic opposite. Breakfast was good if perhaps a touch expensive (€9 per person, but €1 cheaper than for those staying in the Aston!). All in all I would defo return to this hotel, it was a good base for exploring Barcelona and offered great value for money.
Stayed for 4 nights on our trip to Barcelona Not the best of locations as still a 15min walk to local underground- hospital clinic. Room was ok and bed made daily. No working air conditioning and was Rather hot - window limited opening Pool facility not ideal - very grubby and u have to travel through the basement to get to an adjoining hotel We were on the 4th floor next to the lift - room 41! Keeping us awake all night with people coming and going!!! Not bad but wouldn't go back again - budget hotel - very basic
Optimal hotel for 2-3 nights, at very good transport for any location in the city. Rooms are small, but tidy, small bathroom with shower, toiletries, tv not so good, reception not good, very few chanels. I did not have breakfast. Right next to hotel is Burger king, or a coffee shop with lots of pastries, sandwiches, very good coffee. 5 minutes walk to metro L5 and one stop Diagonal you can change for the centre.
