Stayed at the Novotel for 1 night and it was great! A very nice rooftop terrace with a beautiful view over the city. The room was great! A proper shower and an amazing bed! It is more of a business hotel too me, the basics are there: shower gel, shampoo and some soap. Very good breakfast with fruits, bread, eggs etc.
nice hotel. too small family room far from city center nice breakfast no frequent change of towels very limited toiletries should have a spa kind reception would recommend for. families too crowded breakfast room
Unpleasant and bad smell in my room, complained but nothing happened. Good breakfast experience, fresh and inviting. Family friendly. Rooftop terrace OK but again unpleasant odor near the pool. I would not stay there again.
Stayed in this hotel for 1 night then came back for another 2 nights. What friendly helpful staff they went out of their way to help. The hotel was clean and the rooms we had each time were spacious and clean. We had a box of chocolates and a bottle of fancy water given to us the first time, and the 2nd time the same and a free drink of our choice for going back. As we were going on a tour after the first night we asked if we could store our large suitcases with them and it was not a problem for the staff to do so. Around the corner was a large shopping centre that is open till late that has resturants, a huge supermarket selling everything and various other shops. Taxis are generally across the road from hotel to get you around as well as trams and buses. This hotel is close to the city centre and not far from cruise terminal and tour offices. On the roof there is a small pool a gym also a bar and tasty food. Would stay here again. Enjoy.
Very nice hotel great rooftop bar and swimming pool. I have travelled with my sister, my husband and 2 children. The room was nice and clean. Ask for a room high up, great view of the city. The swimming pool is a nice addition to that roof. The staff are very hard working and friendly. The hop on hop off bus stop is just next to the hotel. The gym is also located on the rooftop a fun way to exercise. I recommend this hotel.
Not a hotel you would book if you are coming to see Barcelona as a tourist. Not cheap for a room WITHOUT - a pair of slippers, bathrobe, shower cap, free bottles of water. The amenities is a JOKE - only one bottle of shower gel and one bottle of shampoo.
Agree with previous reviews. Room was not ready, we arrived on an early flight, however hotel looked after our bags whilst we went for breakfast just down the road. Back at 11ish and our de luxe room with a fantastic view was ready. Large room with small separate lounge, large bathroom with walk in shower. Mini bar and very good wifi. And most importantly ... very clean. Rooftop pool and bar was very clean, staff were ok, not the most dynamic, but looked after us. Breakfast in a meeting room in the basement was well thought out, simply due to the nos of guests staying in the hotel. Excellent choice of hot and cold, I particularly liked the self serve coffee machines, very nice choice of beverage. I just love the simplicity of the Spanish breakfast offer, inc all the usual English dishes, the array of cold meats and cheeses was exceptional. Look the hotel commands high rates in high season, however location, product and service make this hotel a good choice.
Clean, comfortable, nice toys for the children on check in. There is a supermarket and restaurant complex across the road so good choices around. Nice pool (a bit cold) and good breakfast even if it was a bit chaotic in terms of enough glasses and bowls.
We stayed two nights in a superior, city-view room--the views were amazing! We arrived early and our room was not ready so we could not check-in, but they stored our bags while we explored the city. At first, we were given the wrong category room and had to change rooms after check-in when we realized our view was a building next door. The staff at the front desk was very apologetic and reassigned our room right away. The elevators are small, so we had to take two separate ones to accommodate all four of us with our luggage. The language barrier was not an issue--almost everyone spoke English. There was a gentleman in the lobby who graciously asked if we needed help with our itinerary and he helped guide us to sightseeing locations, including giving us maps and advising us which metro stops to take. He was very helpful! The rooftop pool and bar area were lovely--nice views, especially at night. The pool water was hazy and it is a bit deep so be mindful of kids who aren't strong swimmers. There are weekday activities for kids that seemed fun, but we were there over a weekend. The breakfast buffet was good--plenty of options, even for my husband who has a gluten allergy. Rooms are spacious. The bed mattress was very comfortable--we are planning to locate one once we get settled back home. We had a sleeper sofa for the kids, which was fine for our needs. There is a metro station close to the hotel (L1 red line--Glories station), which was quite convenient. We didn't explore the area around the hotel much, so I can't comment on restaurants or shopping in that area. We had an early flight on our departure day and there were taxis lined up outside the hotel at 0430 ready to take travelers to the airport. Taxi to the airport from there took about 25 minutes--it cost 32 euros plus a 10 euro airport fee. Overall, a very nice hotel--we would stay here again!
Stayed in a family room, with a nice view over the city; Torre Glòries and La Sagrada Familia behind it. The room was clean and very Novotel'y, no surprises there. On one night he neighbouring hotel had a party with rather loud music on their rooftop pool bar (which was right below our room) but other than that we had no noise disturbances. Ok basic breakfast, a bit crowded on some mornings but they scaled it nicely to a large conference room downstairs with all the same offerings. The rooftop restaurant / pool area was awesome and one of the reasons we ended up in this hotel, although the pool area is pretty small and gets easily crowded during the busiest times. Having stayed a couple of times in the more touristy areas of the city, we found the location very convenient; not too crowded and easily accessible. There is a metro station next to the hotel, a taxi to/from Place de Catalunya was ~8e and if you feel like walking, La Sagrada Familia area and Parc de la Ciutadella (and Barri Gotic behind it) were not too far either. There is a large shopping mall (Centre Comercial Glòries) next to the hotel with all the usual Spanish clothing chains (and a huge Carrefour for those hotel room snacks and drinks) and the neighborhood had some decent dining options too. In particular we enjoyed the tapas in L'Olivera just behind the shopping mall.
