I spent a night in this hotel nicely located in Barcelona. The room was comfortable and quiet (ninth floor). The bed was very good (no back pain) which is appreciated. Breakfast was quite busy as there were many tourists in the hotel. Nevertheless it had a nice variety of food to chose from. Good wi-fi connection too. All in all my stay was pleasant.
I stayed here in September 2017 for two nights when my husband and I visited the Bowie Exhibition just across the road. Our flight from England had been awful due to issues at the time with Ryan Air; our flight was delayed by over 3 hours and at the time of arriving we didn't know whether we'd have a flight home! And it was peeing it down. We checked into the hotel easily and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were shown where breakfast would be served the following day, and where dinner was available later (we actually ate at another restaurant close by : very very excellent and I've reviewed that separately). We went to the modern bedroom and tidied ourselves up before venturing out into the heavy rain in search of dinner. I was a little shocked that the hotel didn't have umbrellas for visitors, but I guess they don't expect it to rain like it did! Breakfast was a busy affair with what seemed like everyone from the hotel all descending on the breakfast room at the same time. The staff coped well though, and it was a pleasant experience with plenty of choice which was well cooked and well presented. While there we also visited the rooftop bar (it had stopped raining). The views over Barcelona were amazing. I'd have liked more time to enjoy a relaxing drink up there, but as we only had a short time we went sightseeing. The triangular pool looked lovely, although empty while we were there. The location of the hotel is perfect for walking into the city and to the train station. We caught a train from Barcelona Airport and then walked the short distance from the train station to the hotel. No need at all for expensive taxis. I'd recommend the hotel for those wishing to enjoy the sights of Barcelona with or without children. I'd go back.
We had a conference at this hotel and it all ran very smoothly. The food in the restaurants was good but unfortunately the catered food in the conference room one night was not great. The rooms are a good size with nice bathrooms - mine did need a refurb soon though, a bit of wear and tear on the carpets and a fair amount of scuffs on the wall. I really liked the rooftop bar with pool area and the drink prices up there are very reasonable - the view is fantastic! All in all I would recommend and would go back if I wanted to be in that area.
My biggest mistake was having expectations. Horrible service. They acted like I was doing them a favor. I got to my room no electricity. I asked them to fix it and they sent a guy who just giggled my door. I asked for them to set up my second bed and they said okay. I had to come back down for them to set it up. When my room was thirty minutes late they had no apologies.
Travelled with another family and enjoyed the stay at the Novotel. Breakfasts were good as was the cleanliness of the rooms which were very quiet for being in such a busy location. Views from the roof top bar are great. Glòries metro stop is just around the corner - don’t confuse it with the slightly closer La Farinera like we did on the first morning. Handy also for bars and restaurants of Rambla del Poblenou Across the road is Bar Andrea which has some “interesting” outdoor smoking practices and a very eclectic mix of clientele. We found service invariably good at the hotel Just be aware that if your in a rush the lifts can be very slow
When checking in got a nice surprise of an upgrade to views of Barcelona on the 18th Floor, excellent. The menu choice for evening meal was good with a good choice on the children’s menu also. A Metro station is a very short walk away giving access to all of the sights. The City Sightseeing bus covers most of the city. Well worth a visit.
I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit to Barcelona. Although I had not booked a hotel very close to the centre, the location of this hotel close to the Metro station of Line 1 meant that the city centre and all the main landmarks were within an acceptable travelling distance. Even more welcome was the very friendly and helpful staff that greeted me at the reception. They made sure all my questions were answered, and even found the museum opening times for me so I didn't have to spend any time on that. The hotel provides a complete breakfast service, there is plenty of choice and ample space. The rooftop view is also impressive and the bar on that floor offers you a relaxing atmosphere with a nice view of the city. The hotel is certainly recommended for business people and tourists alike. The shopping centre at the other side of the street gives you a choice of main brands, for all your needs, including a quick bite. A main dish at the hotel is very affordable as well. And the price at this time of the season was irresistible. Knowing that Barcelona has a rich cultural heritage, museums, galleries, etc., and even during a rainy day, this hotel is a good starting point to discover it.
We stayed five days for a city break in early Sep. Good location, five mins to the metro station Glories. Rooms are as usual for Novotel, comfortable and quiet. I loved the view of Torre Glories and Barcelona on the horizon. Food at breakfast was plentiful, fresh and delicious! Didn't try lunch or dinner. There is a shopping mall across the road for shopping needs, and a few restaurants nearby too. Good choice for a city break if you'd like a calmer location that the buzz of central Barcelona. Staff are efficient. On the downside: there wasn't the possibility to pre-book a taxi at reception, for the return journey to the airport - which proved a bit of a problem as it rained heavily and there weren't any taxis to be had. We just had a wave one in the street ourselves (made it, fortunately).
Just the perfect starting point to explore all the sites. Easy accessible to all means of public transport. Where there 5 days and really enjoyed ourselfs. Extremly friendly staff and verrrry Professional. Wereldwijd upgraded to a superior suite. Wow overweging Barcelona from the Sagrada Familia to the Dea and Montjuic. Breakfast is overwelming with all tastes but restaurant can be very crowded So read the notice in the lift. Very Nice views from the skybar
Stayed here for two nights for a large corporate meeting. Check-in was friendly and fast as was checkout. I was able to do a late checkout at no extra charge. My room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in our rate. It was very good and had a huge selection. We had lunch and dinner in the restaurant, too. The food was excellent and again had a varied selection. The hotel is a short walk to the station to get to the old part of town. The hotel bar is on the 19th floor where the pool is located. A nice place to relax! I would definitely stay here again.
