This review is of the restaurant only. The welcome was very refined and elegant, a definite sign of things to come. We, my wife and I, were seated in a lounge on a lower floor and served champagne and presented with the menu. A 16 course, or 22 course prix fixe. We chose the 16 courses, were asked about food allergies or dislikes and informed that the kitchen would be happy to accommodate any desired changes. As my wife dislikes calamari she received lobster instead. Soon we received our first delicate morsel on the spines of a cactus. Rather than describing each course, I will attach pictures as well as menu and wine paring, but I would like to mention a few of the standouts. The Galician Salmon and trout eggs served to us in the kitchen, was one, the foie gras taco makes me salivate thinking about it and thinking of the lamb makes me want to pack my suitcase and go back to this wondrous place. Chef Jordi Cruz earned his first Michelin star at age 24, his second at 29 and he is definitely deserving of a third. The service was excellent, the waiters and sommelier knowledgeable, correct and friendly. The ambiance of the room could be described as quiet modern elegance. The menu in my humble opinion is indescribable; it is so well thought out, yet very adventurous and innovative and always true to the Spanish kitchen. Jordi Cruz is a true master of the culinary arts. Anyone looking for a memorable dining experience would be well served to make a reservation at ABaC. Bob and Bibbi Walters London Canada

A pure moment of bliss and "rafinement" as french would say. The staff, The penthouse room, The spa, The room service were perfect. The cherry on the cake was the dinner at the 2 Michelin award winning Jordi Cruz restaurant a pure moment of heaven. I would say Congratulations to all we will come back.

The property itself is very cute and I enjoyed our balcony overlooking the garden very much. Our room was clean and quite spacious. We ate dinner at the Abac restaurant and the service was appalling we ate at 8 other michelin starred restaurants during our week in Spain; Abac and one other restaurant both had terrible, rude service. There was one memorable dish but not good enough to go back for.

On arrival you press a button for entry and in you go to see lovely kept gardens the pavement leading to the main entrance however is not great for suitcases on wheels be prepared to carry your bags .the staff are friendly and polite we were taken to our room the penthouse and I have to say first impressions WOW well worth the extra cost until the tv stopt working and the taps in the sink on the 2nd day one of the staff came up to have a look and said they would get it sorted that was the last I herd (not very good customer service )I was still there for another 3 days only had my iPad to watch instead of one of the biggest TVs I have ever seen a big selling point for this room I would think!!having said that if these things were sorted out then it would have been perfect the terrace out side was Beautiful with a jacuzzi lovely eating area sunbeds and somewhere to have breakfast in the morning overlooking the city .getting down to las ramblas was €15 each way in a cab not to bad or about 40min walk.

We finished our 10 day tour of Spain with a lovely stay, spa treatments and dinner at ABaC. The room was very comfortable with nice linens, bath products. Dinner was decadent and delicious, starting with appetizers in the lounge, then a tour of the wine cellar and kitchen before dinner in the dining room. Sommelier was very knowledgable and helpful, staff were accommodating all around. Spa was great treat with multiple baths, sauna, steam room before our treatments. A great treat to finish our trip.

My husband and I chose the AbAc for our honeymoon. We were only in Barcelona for 3 nights but wanted 3 nights of luxury and that is what we got!! Champagne on arrival and a free upgrade to the suite! Bonus! The hotel is stunning, stylish, fresh and pristine! The rooms are spacious with incredible showers/baths and toiletries! The bed is 100% the comfiest bed we have slept in! The sheets and the pillows were out of this world! We are tempted to get in touch with the hotel to see where we can get the pillows from!!! We had a meal in the hotel restaurant the first night! The experience was out of this world! So professional and the food was to die for!!! We walked to the city centre once, it is literally straight down for 40 minutes and you are in the city centre! We got the tour bus for 2 days and there is a stop right outside the hotel so that was our transport sorted! If you don't have breakfast at the hotel there is a lovely little cafe opposite the hotel that do gorgeous sandwiches and coffee and pastries! I really can't emphasise how wonderful the hotel was and the staff! I would recommend this hotel to anyone wether it's a stay with friends or a romantic getaway! Thank you AbAc for making our honeymoon memorable and spectacular!! P.s Barcelona is pretty cool too!!

We stayed in a large group mostly couples. What an amazing hotel and very modern. The room we stayed very white and a great layout. glass wall to shower and a full wet room so make sure you don't turn the taps if your not ready... Well situated for what we wanted. Would highly recommend and the restaurant is amazing you can walk through the kitchen it's not every day you can see the team at work.

This hotel ticked all our boxes and had none of the things we always seek to avoid. From the moment we were picked up at Barcelona airport the staff could not have been more helpful and attentive. We were fortunate enough to have booked the Penthouse room and, even at the end of February, this was a real bonus (we were also lucky with the weather, in fairness) as we could sit out in the sunshine and enjoy the feeling of seclusion. The hot-tub was also a lovely way of starting and ending busy days sightseeing. The room itself was light, spacious, very well appointed and we never heard another guest (something very rare these days). The novelty of walking through the kitchen to reach reception and the restaurant never wore off, particularly as the kitchen team were always keen to show their workplace off. Such is the ease of using the Metro in Barcelona that the ABaC is perfectly located just a short stroll across the road to the last stop on the L7 which goes straight through the heart of the city and thereby making all the main sights very accessible - just buy a T10 ticket and you'll be surprised at just how good value the Metro is, even though we also walked the equivalent of a marathon in 3 days enjoying as much of the city as we could. The real bonus of the hotel was being able to explore the city among all the crowds and then we could retreat to our haven of serenity and peace away from all the hustle and bustle of city life. We spent four nights there and just wanted it to be longer. Thank you to all of the staff at the ABaC - we will definitely be returning.

I read many reviews before choosing a hotel in Barcelona and I chose this one based on the good reviews. I wasn't wrong, from the moment you arrive you feel welcome and looked after and the staff are so helpful and pleasant. This is without doubt the best hotel we stayed in and can't wait to return and it goes without saying the food is fantastic too.

Beautiful boutique hotel, with a great location. Not in the centre of everything, located in the older part of the town, but this suited us fine. The hotel is literally a historical building surrounded by gardens. Very minimalistic, modern, clean and staff could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them, they seemed to get everything right. Loved the bar, loved the cocktails, loved the people. I can't speak highly enough about this hotel, and would definitely recommend.
