We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is nice and clean and spacious. We had fresh linens everyday and the service is quick. The location is good too as there are few eateries and supermarket close by. If walking is your choice then this is ideal, Its easy to walk to most places in Barcelona, a good way to keep yourself fit. But also easy to access taxis to anywhere. The reception staff are very helpful and speak excellent english. We surely would stay here if we returned to Barcelona.
We booked this hotel through our American Express card and therefore expected quality. The only positive things I have to say are: - The rooms are spacious and well furnished (We did book a double though and had two single beds pushed together with seperate single bedding?) - The shower and bathroom facilities are good quality - The cleaners were very polite and did a great job in our room each day - There was 1 lady who was very pleasant and helpful on reception (unfortunately she was also only there on one day of our stay) The things that have made me rate this hotel as poor are: - The breakfast is hands down the worst hotel breakfast service I have ever had. We stayed for 5 days and tried varying times between 7.30 - 9.45 for breakfast, I was only able to get a warm egg and brown toast once. The rest of the time the hot buffet was basically empty (except for a couple of chorizo which I can't eat) there was only white bread, which we were told is all that was left, and the glasses on the tables were dirty almost every day (see example below). I felt sorry for the poor lady in there as she was on her own every day and was clearly struggling to keep up! - The reception staff (other than the lady mentioned above) were rude 9 times out of 10. You can see a restaurant through a glass door from the reception desk and the one day we asked 2 members of staff at the desk how to get there, they watched us try and walk through the (locked) door and then spoke to us like we were stupid and told us that restaurant is separate without attempting to help tell us how to get there?! The receptionist when we left was by far the rudest though. He gave us the 'city tax' bill and, when we started a conversation between ourselves about how we were under the impression this was already included by American Express, he spoke over us and said "it's never included in your stay" while rolling his eyes and sighing at us. We paid it and left and he did not say another word to us not "thank you", "travel safely" or "did you enjoy your stay" or anything in fact. - The room was painfully hot and we had to sleep with the French doors open every night despite it being only about 10 degrees outside. We had the room on the lowest temperature. Overall this was not the level of service we expected from an American Express recommended hotel, after staying in several exceptional ones, and we will also be raising this with them.
The hotel is located in the area of Eixample, which is fairly central and close to a metro service. I was impressed with my exec room on the 3rd floor which was large and looked like it had recently been refurbished. My friends room on the 1st floor however was quite dated in its design. With all rooms at the front of the hotel it could be quite noisy at times, so take your ear plugs of you’re a light sleeper! The hotel also offers a buffet breakfast with hot and cold options. The hotel bar in the lounge is limited however with only a few “self service” options.
I arrived late in the night, the rest of the family was already there. I was greeted with courtesy and given all kind of explanations in spite of the late hour. It was great to feel welcomed and not to feel guilty because you are disturbing somebody due to beeing so late. A large room, very good beds, modern and stylish bathroom. Although located in an area with lots of traffic during the day time, inside you don't hear anything, it is well noise-isolated and outside the street remains quite human and neraby there are many fashionable shops and places to eat. Impressive breakfast with quality bread, typical Catalan charcuterie, good tea.
Spacious room with great view and nice atmosphere. Spacious and clean bathroom, comfortable beds and large windows. Very good breakfast and friendly staff. Metro station nearby, bus station nearby too. Good food and many restaurants for tapas around the hotel. Very good neighborhood. Everything was great!
I went with some friends for a couple of days and got a quadruple room. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. There are lots of nice restaurants in the neighborhood, much better value than the tourist traps in Passeig de Gracia or Les Rambles.
Best location in town, Delicious Spanish food and the kidness of the stuff made us experience an amazing visit to me and all my friends. Many bars around always open even on holidays. Very recommended!
The hotel rooms are HUGE with enough room to store all of our luggage. I stayed for 15 days and the food was awesome, with different varieties of dinner meals. The staff is kind and helpful with anything you need.
We stayed in November. Great location. Clean, good food and great staff, specially Mr Gabriel. He was very kind and helpful during our stay. Business office available to print boarding passes and several convenient restaurants in the area. Wake up to a great breakfast in the morning.
I along with my wife stayed at the Grand Passage guitart hotel Barcelona from the 9 th till 13 th September 2017.The hotel is located in a nice area.The room and the bathroom were clean and spacious.However,the attitude of Mr Gabriel who sat at the reception was very unhelpful to the point of being rude.I and my wife were having problem connecting our phones with the hotel WiFi.My wife went to the reception and asked Mr Gabriel to help her in this matter.He replied that if he started doing this for every guest then how would he find time for other things.The next day when we went down there was a lady at the reception by the name of Miss Laura.She was very helpful and courteous and connected our phones with the WiFi in 5 minutes.The breakfast was nice but there was only one person who was preparing the breakfast and also serving it.
