The Quadrant Hotel & Suites

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

This hotel served its purpose, had two separate bedrooms for a family of four. Had a washer dryer dishwasher oven microwave stove and a fridge. You really can't cook on the stove as they give you only one pot large enough to put a can of soup in. Nice view on the upper floors. Staff was fine, there is not a good place to dine at in the hotel so if that's important to you, I would pass. Overall average and I would not consider it an upscale property. The beds were comfortable.

the bed was uncomfortable, they put two twin beds (or single) to make a queen so there was that annoying divide in the middle, mattress was a bit hard. Rates were ok, location was great a short walk to everything without being right next to the hustle and bustle. The staff.. as in everyone, was absolutely helpful and friendly. lots of long term tenants apparently, mostly students from the conversations i had at the bar. breakfast was 18$ for a very limited selection not worth 18$ at all.

The Quadrant is an excellent option particularly for singles and couples with the intent of enjoying a few leisurely days in Auckland. The hotel is located in a nice upscale neighborhood just a 5-10 minute walk to Britomart and the waterfront area as well as Queen Street. The rooms are comfortable, some with a decent view of the water. I have stayed here a number of times and continue to go back based on the quality of service, comfort of the room, the location, and the excellent value. Nothing negative to say. This is a solid 4-star property.

we actually stayed here twice during the trip: Once in a standard room, once in a two bedroom sort of suite. both rooms had free internet, a free laundry washer-dryer IN THE ROOM, sky TV, and a mini kitchen complete with stove, sink, dishwasher and pans. The standard room was actually better for two reasons: 1) you could see the TV from the bed (in the 2 bedroom suite, the TV was only visible from the room between the 2 bedrooms) and 2) each "king" bed in the 2 Bdr was made of two smaller beds pushed together, so there was a crack right down the middle, unpleasant if the two of you like to sleep close together. but overall, a good experience and would stay here again.

We booked 1-night at the Quadrant, after touring the North Island for two weeks, and on our way to Australia for a week. The price was right, $90 USD! Two weeks earlier we'd stayed next door at the Pullman for 3 nights (lovely) for $130/night, but we'd simply needed to put our heads down for a night after busy 2 weeks. Great location adjacent to the University, Albert Park, etc. Easy to go to the CBD and east to Parnell, etc. Room was small, but very tidy, modern, efficiently laid out with small kitchenette with dishwasher, washer/dryer combo, supplies, etc. We didn't use any of it, it nice for a longer stay. Lovely little northwest facing balcony made is nice and bright, with sheers and black-out drape. Bathroom was nearly microscopic (couldn't fit more that 1 adult at a time) but clean and served its purpose, with pleasant toiletries. Building/hotel overall had an apartment/modern dormitory feel to it with lots of young (perhaps uni students live there too --- that's the feeling I got) multi-nationals milling about. Great value. Would definitely consider staying here again depending of the type of travel I would next be making to NZ/if I wasn't planning on spending a lot of time in the room.

For the money, the room was OK. Clean and had the essentials including a refrigerator, cooktop and microwave oven. However, the local mini-marts didn't have much that you would want to cook. Parking was $28 a day - kind of expensive. The rooms were noisy, so it was hard to sleep. The gym was not what I expected. If you are expecting to get in a good work out, forget it. If you only want a sauna, it's ok. When you arrive, park in front of the entry way as they only have valet parking. The people were very nice, but the hotel overall is a bit over rated. Looks better on the website than it really is. Location was good - walking distance to lots aall of downtown Auckland.

Pros: * Pretty cheap, great location, some of the staff are excellent Cons: * can take a while for houskeeping people to come through * for some rooms it's impossible to connect your computer to the tv (even though there are plenty of connectors on the back of the tv) * some of the staff aren't quite as excellent

The Quad is central to most everything in Auckland, a short walk to the art gallery, the Domain, ferries to Devonport and Waiheke, High Street, Queen Street. We stayed for a couple of months and found it to be convenient and comfortable and quiet except for the occasional holiday weekend . The rooms feature a washer.dryer and a little cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and fridge and our room had a nice terrace; maid service was steady. All in all, an excellent place to stay.

Had a good one night stay here. Our flight got in before check-in and the hotel allowed us to check in early since our room was ready, they also let us borrow an adapter to charge our electronic devices. Easy check-in and check-out process.

Great suite for room prices! Mini kitchens plus washer/dryer, dishwasher, separate bedroom, sitting area. Only downside is a small bathroom with limited counter space. Location is perfect to access downtown and waterfront, walking distance to Parnell and most areas. Free wi-fi made the stay perfect.

The Good: Clean room, spacious, good amenities in room. I had a corner room and two balconies which was nice. In room washer/dryer was really convenient. Room service was ok, if a tad expensive. The Not Good: Some staff weren't entirely fluent in English, so it was tough to communicate sometimes. Internet is heavily advertised as free on their site and side of the hotel but it's free for only one device. Each device after that is $15. They say you have a cap of 10GB/day (which is huge and more than I get at home), but the provider will block you if you use the service heavily. I felt it was bait and switch a bit. The mattress was really soft. It's fine if you like that but it wasn't that comfortable for me.

The studio room is small relative to other hotels we've stayed at. It was very clean and a good hotel to stay at just for sleeping in. Also, the hotel wasn't in the best location relative to the harbour and other places to walk to.

Everything they charge extra beside room rent. Parking $28/day etc etc nothing is included in room rent

The hotel is beautiful, the bar is cute and the staff is really friendly - not to mention the location is great. It's adjacent to the University of Auckland and a 5 minute walk to the waterfront or about 7 minutes to Queen St. However the balcony was covered with cigarettes that rained down from above, the advertised W/D was not included in the room, and the water went off during our last day. We were offered another room to shower in and a free breakfast for our troubles, but it was a shock and an inconvenience on the last day of a month long trip abroad just before going to the airport. Also we asked for late check out and almost got walked in on by a worker who "didn't know" and wanted to refill the honor bar - AWKWARD! A bit noisy as there are many young folks staying there (seems like the upper floors serve as student housing of some kind?) and the rooms are tiny. Overall a decent deal in a very nice setting - maybe we just had bad luck.

This was like living in a nice apartment downtown for two weeks: It had a stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer, etc., making it easy for me to simply live there rather than out of my suitcase. The design is mod, the location is central, the guest services are done with kindness, and the cost makes it a luxurious value.

The perfect combination of hotel/apartment accomodations. Modern, a bit small, but very clean and comfortable. Walk downhill to downtown (take a taxi back). As a nice surpise, WiFi was included. Perfect for the solo traveler. Two people might have a problem using the bathroom at the same time.

Stayed only 2 days but it had all the things a tired traveller would need and was super clean! The kitchenette and washer/dryer in the room was great although the washer/dryer was very complicated to try and work out but in the end it worked.

Excellent views from their balconies, and lots to take in! Bathrooms are not that big, so you have to take caution to that.

Very clean and easy to get in and out.

Very contemporary hotel, right in the heart of Auckland. Great internet access, which is really important for me. And the service was also very prompt and courteous. Very nice experience, and would return again.
