This property caught my attention as we needed to be close to the Westin Hotel and access Downtown attractions, specially GWCC. For that it was good, but you do need to feel comfortable walking. I am 46, in decent shape, and I had my 70 yr old mom with me, also in decent shape. Scooters are all over for rent, but that was not an option for us. She was hurting a bit on the day we walked everywhere (GWCC, Aquarium, Centennial Park, Hall of Fame...) I would say it's in an ok part of the city, but I wouldn't want to be walking much after dark. There are homeless people, most didn't bother us. Hyde Park is right at entrance of building. There were homeless there and I'm sure that's fairly normal.
Communication with owner of property was good as our flights kept getting delayed (a day and a half). We did have some check in issues with concierge. We thought it was because of our late arrival, but even that didn't seem to make a difference. She did allow us to go up to condo since I had confirmation and instructions to enter. She was very polite and doing her job...I was just hoping to not have any more glitches in an already frazzled trip.
The condo is in ok condition. It's a place to stay, in a decent location, we had what we needed, but it could use a little TLC. Some of the bathroom towels were dirty, some of the lights were out, the bathroom itself could use some spruce up the appearance (it wouldn't take a lot). The bed is comfortable, but is pretty basic in looks-no bedding set, just basic pillows with sheets and a micro blanket.
It would be helpful to have instructions on TV use. There is a ROKU stick and some are not going to know what to do with that. The TV remote wasn't working. There were extra batteries, but even those didn't help. We didn't watch much TV, so not a huge deal. It's a small detail that should be taken care of before someone stays.
We didn't use the kitchen, so I don't have comments. There was a Corner Bakery right next to building great for breakfast. Max Lager's was great for dinner and also next to the building. I think had we arrived when we should've, we may have utilized the kitchen - but carrying groceries back to condo may not have been fun.
We weren't given departure instructions. In all my VRBO stays I've had clear arrival and departure notes. I just knew where I needed to put key fob and remotes; nothing about towels or kitchen. With some TLC this could be a good rent
