Everything we were looking for in an apt hotel - charming quiet neighborhood,comfortable beds- well equipped kitchen a washer/dryer! and very happy we paid a little more for the canal view. Staff was very helpful with our requests. No a/c but they provided an extra fan when we asked.
My wsife and I stayed at Yates. We are experienced travelers and this was a wonderful place for us. They so not have a restaurant but there are restaurants on the same block and about a million bistros in the neighborhood. The rooms have a galley kitchen with a refrigerator an Ikea type stove and oven and silverware, dishes and cooking utensils. They are wonderful markets [where they all speak English and are happy to see you] with very fresh food and very good sushi [actually make by expert Japanese fussy chefs] and excellent bread and cheese shops. We went to some restaurants but made a lot of things is our own suite in our dining area. the rooms also had washing machines so you don't to bring a million pounds of underwear or worry about where to get it washed. You can spend your time doing what you want to do. The concierges were wonderful and friendly and polite.
Hotel/apartment was very good. Kitchen was well equipped, bed and pullout bed were nice and bathrooms were also very decent. What we enjoyed most was being part of the local scene. Not in a touristy area, but still close to many restaurants and two min walk to tram line. We saw and did everything we wanted very effortlessly.
