Love this hotel. First, the staff is terrific, smiling, welcoming. Second, the rooms are large, comfortable, great bedding, good bathroom, kept really clean. Third, the location is perfect, close to shopping and good restaurants. Would certainly stay there again.
The old adage “you get what you pay for” applies at this wonderful hotel. Open your wallet and dive in. There are many superb hotels in Amsterdam and I have stayed in a few. My wife and I had a Be My Guest Certificate for a complimentary one night stay which we were kindly offered after a bad experience at Wardorf Astoria Hotel Berlin. We decided to redeem it during a two night stay in the Wardorf Amsterdam. We chose wisely. We were pleased to be offered a complimentary upgrade to a grand king room opposite the canal. The entire stay was perfect. Room wonderful comfy bed, lovely relaxing bathroom & shower. Service was impeccable throughout our stay. Food wonderful and tasty. Amazing cocktails in The Vault Bar. Hotel spaces throughout were beautiful and calming. The pool & spa were smart & relaxing whilst being satisfactory nothing to rave about. We will return next time I’m in Amsterdam that’s for sure. I suggest you do the same.
I stayed here for 3 days on a business trip. The hotel is beautiful and the location is great. I also stayed 3 days in September 2017, and I think the service level was better in my previous stay. The cleaning staff unfortunately through away some of my receipts. The room service was not coordinated with the reception etc. This is only small details, but in this price range the details are important. I must also mention that the concierge is very good. In general the staff is very helpful, but it lacks a bit of coordination in order to give the hotel a full score in my opinion. I recommend this hotel and I will come back the next time I go to Amsterdam. I only hope the service is a bit better coordinated next time.
We finished a 2 week trip at the Waldorf in Amsterdam and it was the perfect end to a wonderful vacation. The Waldorf is a quiet luxury without being overstated. Definitely worth the extra cost. The staff is attentive but not overbearing and happy to meet every need.
No detail was overlooked in the beautiful public areas at the Waldorf, which were adorned with beautiful art and decor. The King Grand Premier room overlooking the canal was beautiful and spacious, so much so that a larger TV would have been nice! The perfect bathrooms had double sinks, and a separate shower and bathtub. But, although everyone at the hotel was wonderfully nice, the service seemed a little off. We asked for dinner reservations two nights in a row, only to return from being gone the entire day to find that reservations were not made and a message was not left. But, still, the hotel made our first stay in Amsterdam memorable. Definitely go there!
This hotel was beautiful; a great lobby, nice breakfast area, and great vault bar downstairs. The rooms were big. The staff was excellent from the doormen, reception, to concierge. The location was close everything you might want to do in Amsterdam.
We are seasoned travellers and have stayed at some of the best hotels around the world, and we have to say that the Waldorf Amsterdam ranks amongst the best of them. It is a given that hotels of this standard will have first class location, amenities and cleanliness, but what distinguishes the Waldorf Amsterdam is the quality of the service we received from the front of desk, concierge, bell-boys, wait staff and practically every staff that we met. We went away with the feeling that everyone was genuinely interested to help and to make our stay there a great experience. This could only have come from staff who were happy working where they were. Special mention for Kim who went out of her way to find out the manufacturer of a bedside reading lamp that my wife thought might be suitable for our own house. We have no hesitation in highly recommending this superb hotel and the personable service that we received. With its canal location and easy walking to the museum district and other attractions, it was truly a memorable re-visit of Amsterdam.
Our stay at the Waldorf in Amsterdam couldn't have been better. The property is top notch in every way and the staff and service are some of the best we've seen anywhere in the world. Absolutely fabulous
All Hiltons should learn from this one. After a disastrous stay at Hilton Garden Inn Venice, we had lost a little our trust o the Hilton brand, but this hotel convinced us not all properties are the same. This Waldorf Astoria has a perfect location, super-qualified staff, great rooms and an amazing restaurant. Number one in Amsterdam by far!
My wife and I were guests at the hotel for 4 nights in late March. Our experience was wonderful. It started at check-in. The attention and the time from staff was excellent. We received information with respect to the hotel and surrounding areas. Our room was ready early which is always great for overnight transatlantic travelers. Throughout our stay, service was maintained at the same high level. The facilities throughout the hotel were excellent. Our room was very comfortable. The housekeeping staff performed flawlessly. The food in Peacock Alley and the Goldfinch Brasserie was excellent as was room service. It was our first trip to Amsterdam but I am confident that the Waldorf is the best hotel in town!
