Amazing hotel! Location is perfect so close to Dam square and central station. Walking distance to everything you need. The staff were FANTASTIC. They were so friendly and kind gave us good recommendations all round lovely people. Check in and check out smooth you can keep your luggage there during the day. The room was spacious clean had everything we needed. 10/10 stay absolutely loved it. Thank you to hotel the exchange!

The hotel was in a great location close to the train. It also had excellent air conditioning. The bathroom drain did not work and it flooded the bathroom each time you showered. Also the WiFi did not work the entire time we were there. They said floor 5 was too far from reception. But neither of the WiFi networks worked. The decor was…interesting… but I guess each room is different.

A find in Amsterdam!

This was a real find: the hotel was reasonably priced, in a convenient and safe location, and with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. There is an elevator, but as it’s a bit of a rabbit warren upstairs, you might need to switch to another one. When the person at the desk saw that I had a heavy suitcase, she moved me to a room that did t require changing elevators or climbing stairs. When I got to my room, i couldn’t open the window, and they sent someone up within a few min it es to fix it. There’s free coffee and tea in a lounge on the ground floor, and it’s an easy walk from the station (which I could see from my window) Great breakfast place a couple of doors down. The staff pride themselves on the individual decor for each room. My room was pretty bare bones, but functional with nice pillows. It would be better with more light ,and a box of tissues, but that’s a very minor issue.

Hotel is well located, the front isn’t imposing, but that’s ok. Reception was friendly enough and didn’t take too long. Rooms (as they tend to be in Amsterdam) very small but did the job. Good shower. Room was clean.

The positive aspects of Hotel The Exchange Amsterdam was its location, and a fairly sized room. The rest was just strange. The entrance looked as an old bathroom hallway, very narrow and covered with tiles. The door was just a regular old door, nothing indicating a hotel. The reception was a very small booth, with one person helping. The elevators and hallways were so narrow two persons had to squeeze to be able to pass. I case of an emergency I don’t think people could have been evacuated. My room was clean, but strangely decorated with drapes in shades of brown, covering all walls. It looked depressing. I couldn’t say I can recommend this hotel.

Terrific staff, helpful and friendly, great location good coffee very clean very comfortable bed, air quality. GreatTelevision. We got ourselves turned around and lost in Amsterdam, called the hotel snd they patiently and kindly got us back on track. Lovely area, great walks, trams to all museums, concerts, walk to several great restaurants for all styles and prices

Whilst a very basic hotel, it was right in the centre of Amsterdam and had all our needs. Staff available 24/7 were very friendly and helpful, giving us lots of tips for places to visit. Room was very clean and we had a view over Damrak. Free tea and coffee always available by reception, and a nice cafe next door for breakfast. People were constantly arriving, so obviously a popular choice. if you are looking for a central location at a reasonable price, this is it.
