We were delighted with our stay. It seemed like a cross between a classy hostel and a really nice budget hotel. My daughter and I, ages 70 and 41, were comfortable with the room. There may be a concern for privacy with toilet and shower in the room with closable circular doors for privacy. Neither of us wanted to shower while other in the room but with so many nice seating areas in lobby it was easy to have privacy while showering. We would never choose to share a king bed but it was fine because we are not large people and never knew other in bed once asleep. The location by Amsterdam Zuid Station was ideal for us. We arrived by train and walked 5 minutes to and from hotel for train to Schipol in the morning. It is very close to Beatrix Garden where we walking in the evening and again in the morning. The food offered on site looked good. There are many dining options nearby. We bought food and beer from nearby grocery store and enjoyed eating and relaxing one of seating areas in lobby.

citizenM do a great marketing job - both the website and the lobby/bar/lounge/breakfast area are all very funky, with red and black colour scheme, open-style, shared space. But then you go to your room. The rooms are so narrow, the bed is exactly the width of the room. Forget privacy if there's more that one of you - shower and toilet behind opaque glass that leave nothing to the imagination. Poor couples who go there for their first ever romantic weekend together. This type of room seems fine if you know about it, but nowhere have I seen anything that describes the rooms as these utilitarian rabbit hutches with their non-private pods for private things. I also know Amsterdam is an expensive place to stay, but it was horrendously expensive and coupled with the room size, made for very poor value. Be careful about paying in advance, reserve and keep an eye on the price - the price was 60 EUR less by the time we stayed for one night. A nice breakfast, a good espresso martini and nice staff do not make up for the lack of value in the tiny space. Are all citizenMs like this?

Great Hotel, very modern, clean, helpful personel. Not very close to the centre (25 min with the tram) but if you want to attend a conferenve at RAI it is good location. Got very excited with all the technology!!

Confort and marvellous service with all hightech for a nomad worker The large bed and staff sympathy is one of the major points. looking forward to come back soon in holiday but just enjoy the 7 floor view and not having to work

CitizenM is a new and interesting experience that I would suggest people to try out. The location is a bit far out of the centre, but very very accessible with public transportation, as both the train terminal (Zud - about 7-8 minute walk) and the tram stop (about 1 minute walk) are very close. The service (Ambassadors and other hotel staff) was super helpful and friendly, fantastic overall. The hotel is very sharp, clean and technologically advanced. The whole room controls in an IPad is real fun. The beds are as advertised; large and very comfortable. Breakfast is quite good; even though it is not a huge buffet, all the food products are of high quality and never out of stock on the spread. Needless to say, the Coffees are GREAT! My only problem with the hotel (and this is not really avoidable) was the fact that the rooms were very small. If you are travelling with big suitcases and need to live out of them, there is not much space left in the room to move around. There is no clothing cabinet either. Plus the fact that the shower and WC are literally within the room (even if they have

The stay was nice, I could check in earlier because they had rooms ready. The hotel is close to street with tram and railway station but we didn't hear any noise, very well isolated. The crew is very very nice and helpful!

If you like to experience a new way of staying in a hotel with focus on value, this is for you. On the other hand, if you really like to stay within your confort zone and prefer a traditional hotel experience, then this might be a bit too much for you.

Great location outside of the city centre - perfect if you want easy access from the hotel and also into the city centre, and also lovely and quiet and next to a great park. Staff are ridiculously helpful, the room was lovely, if a bit dusty, but we loved the tech in the room and the pod shower! Only problem we had was a problem playing the in-room movies and tv programs, the tv kept turning off, however staff were very helpful, they just unfortunately didn’t get it fixed by the time we ended our stay. But overall, wonderful hotel, great people, would recommend.

This hotel is so efficient and the staff is so friendly, with them going above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Worth every penny! The breakfast is amazing, especially the bacon! The technology in the room makes the stay fun as you're able to control everything from the comfort of your bed. A nice extra was to be able to set the mood to romantic!

Everything as expected. Really nice hotel and the rooms are at first a bit weird but than you get used to the new modern type of hotels. The employees are more than friendly and know what they are doing. Thanks.
