The building is lovely--classicly restored with modern touches. The location is excellent if you want to be near the Albany Capital Center or the surrounding Capital buildings. I got a complimentary room upgrade, which was great, but the room was not super clean upon checkin: there was debris on the bathroom floor and food/sauce on the desk chair seat. Otherwise a virtually perfect stay!

We've stayed in a lot of hotels over the years...including high end hotels in London, New England, and the Southeast of the US. Well, this place blew them all away. We stayed overnight (we live locally) for a friend's wedding. I was reluctant given the room was a bit pricey but we really enjoyed our stay. By far the most comfortable room I've ever stayed in. We like to sleep in a cold room and it was nice that the thermostat worked and adjusted to our preference. The bed was so comfortable and the set up of the room was great. We had a pre-wedding toast in our room and there was a small couch and area for our friends to hang out without feeling weird because they were staring at a bed. Definitely stay here, stay was great, room was clean, bathroom was nice. The wedding was great. Wonderful food, we did not eat at the hotel restaurants but the catering was delicious. Cannot say enough positive things about this hotel.
