I booked this hotel for March 10 with checkout on the 11th. It was a surprise for my Granddaughter 13th bday. The front desk personnel was very friendly. Everything was fine until the girls found a bed bug in their room. My daughter immediately got on the phone and called the front desk to inform them of the problem. I, in turn, went to the room and scooped the bug in a tissue and took it to the front desk. Showed it to the woman on duty. She apologized and stated that was disgusting. Took the tissue and wrapped it in clear tape. I was offered another room, the girls did not want to stay there (no one felt comfortable staying there and I understand). I had to call around to get help with transporting (5) 13 year girls, cake, presents, balloons, gift bags etc. Long story short, I contacted the concierge dept that I booked the room with to let them know of the issue and why I was requesting a refund. I was put on 3 way with the GM and he flat out refused to give me a refund and not even a partial, stating they did not have evidence that the was a bug in the room. I let him know that I gave it to the front desk. He stated they checked the room after we left and found no bugs. I feel that I had been called a liar, when if they looked at the security video it will show that I took the evidence and handed to the front desk. I am just now writing this review because I have been trying to get this taken care of since the incident with no concrete solution. Other than the GM unwillingness to offer a full or partial refund and inadvertently calling me a liar, my stay would have been pleasant.
I stay in many hotels. this was one of the better ones, very clean, friendly, many places to eat near by. easy access to the highway . I would recommend this hotel for sure. there are many hotels at this exit and I have stayed at most of the and this by far was the best for the value
There seemed to be some obvious renovations at the hotel and the decor, furniture and fixtures seemed fresh and new. My room was clean, neat and spacious and the bed was ultra comfortable. Limited bar and, at the time of our visit, a fill-in bar tender who had no idea how to make 'any' cocktails or how to operate the POS system behind the bar. Likely that someone called in and they needed a warm body but I feel that should have been the manager - not a housekeeper. Bathroom - very clean and well stocked. All night coffee, tea and snacks. Nice. Breakfast offered in the morning ($8.95). Should have been complementary for the little that they offered. But I'm there to get some work done and to sleep and those two factors were excellent. I hope they keep working on improvements.
This is your basic hotel stay. We were in a King size bed, non-smoking (large room). Check-in was friendly and easy. The lobby is very modern and stylish. There is a bar area in the lobby which we didn't utilize so I can't comment but it looked very inviting. The elevators need some maintenance. They took a long time getting from one floor to the next. Our room had a sleep number bed but the controller for the bed wasn't working, which I informed management of in an email. The room had a bed, desk with chair, phone, small loveseat, chair, lots of lighting, outlets and USB ports, a bench, end tables, television. The bathroom has the usual tub/shower combo, toilet which has a door separating it from the rest of the bathroom which has the sink/vanity, mirror and mirrored closet. Didn't hear any noise from other guests, we were on the second floor. The housekeeping staff was very accommodating to our wants/needs and did a good job for us. Overall just an average stay, nothing special and nothing horrible. If you just need a basic room and don't any frills this will do.
Hotel was VERY CLEAN and nicely decorated. Staff was friendly. PET FRIENDLY!!!!! Easy on/off from freeway. Large selection of restaurants and if shopping close by. Restaurant in hotel is in lobby area. Menu is limited and more like bar food with items like wings, hamburgers, jalapeno poppers, fries etc... there is a steak dinner on the dinner menu. I don't think you could find a nicer hotel in this area at this price.
This place is disgusting never stay here the rooms are very dusty and nasty the pool area is not kept up at all high chlorine level the l pool is not cleaned the whole hotel smell of marijuana we got there within 15 minutes I was ready to leave I want a refund but was told I would have to wait in the morning for a manager to give me the refund the front just person Jessica was very helpful she gave me a new room when I went downstairs in the next morning to speak to the manager I was told that the manager was not on duty I was helped by a service person named Christina who is very insensitive I told her what was going on and all she could do was giving me a 10% discount back she said she could not give me a full refund because I had stayed the night and was upgraded Suite which usually runs $240 which was just as nasty as all the other Suites this place is overcharging for outdated disgusting Suites and when I told her that the room that the whole hotel smell of marijuana she told me that she couldn't control what the the guests were doing she was very snippy and snotty and a nice way I will never stay at this hotel again
Really nice place to stay ! Only hotel I will stay at when I come to Akron . Nice staff, very clean environment as well as a nice location not far from the highway or food places at all. I love this hotel
This place is a dump. I stayed here Dec 2017 for just one night. Unfortunately, I made the same mistake twice. They somehow managed to make this "hotel" even more unpleasant. Three years ago the GM responded to me here on TA " ...this Radisson has undergone thorough renovations... updating every inch of the entire hotel. The exterior, including the walls and parking lot, and the interior, including all guest bedrooms, lobby and restaurant have been almost all completed..." I was shocked that I had to exit the only operating elevator, so a member of the cleaning staff could get her cart on the elevator. There just wasn't enough space for me, her and the cart. I guess hotel operations take precedence over Guests. The Lobby was trashed upon my arrival, and worse the next morning. The cleaning of Guest rooms and public areas is half assed at best. I cannot tell if they are under staffed or just don't care. Either way, I will not return here. In the future, I will be very skeptical of this brand, but more likely avoid it completely. Do your self a favor, DO NOT stay here!!!!!
The Executive rooms are large and have some nice features for the price (mini fridge, microwave, etc.,) and a sleep number bed. But you get what you pay for. The rooms are NOT clean -the coffee maker I wouldn't use, the ceiling vent in the bathroom was full of... I don't even want to know what - some kind of lint/dust/yuck? (Grab a swiffer and clean those out once in awhile!) the toilet seat was broken, the vanity mirror was covered in dust (and more of the stuff from the ceiling vent) and the carpet hadn't been vacuumed in a very long time judging by the piles of dust and hair behind the couch, floor lamps and under the desk around the perimeter of the room. The bonus were the (I think) stink bugs that were crawling along the ceiling on day 2 & 3 of our stay, which was impressive since this in northeast Ohio in December. I bought a pack of disinfectant wipes and cleaned the room myself, I wasn't even going to bother asking housekeeping to clean. Only one elevator was working and there was some kind of party (or two) during our stay that left the lobby and elevator areas trashed - smashed candy & chips all over the floors along with confetti. The front desk personnel were frustrated that maintenance wasn't available to clean up. I would have at least grabbed a broom and swept up the larger chunks, the hotel certainly wasn't busy. We were in town for a funeral and referred other family members to a hotel down the street. We really needed the sleep number bed otherwise we would have switched hotels.
I am still impressed by the staff at this hotel! We had an issue with one side of our sleep number bed the first night we stayed here. The next morning, we reported it and within 20 minutes, a maintenance worker was there looking at the bed determining how he could help. When they figured out the repair would take a long time, they moved us to a new room, free of charge and even threw in some extra free drink coupons for the bar in the lobby! Everyone was extremely nice and made it their duty to resolve the bed issue as quickly and painlessly as possible. The rooms were clean, nice and spacious. Well-lit also (which is a big plus for me!). There was a pool and a hot tub which I didn't get the change to use, but will definitely do so when I come back. The rate per night was affordable and we really got the best bang for our buck in my opinion. All the staff members we crossed paths with were extremely nice and it didn't feel forced; they were completely professional and genuine which I really appreciated. The coffee in the lobby was really good too and my husband loved the cookies! Do yourself a favor and book a room here for your next trip! You won't be disappointed :)
