The best thing is dog friendly. This is an older property that has not seen an update. Clean enough just tired. On south side of abilene. Fridge in rooms and microwave. Everything did work. Lots of channels on tv.

This motel is a great location! Older motel, but clean and the staff is very nice and helpful. Made a reservation days in advance and check in time was minimal. They even had REAL coffee cups and glasses in the room itself. When we needed more towels or anything, it was not a problem. We will stay here again. The location is right off the freeway and near a nice area of Abilene. Thank you Antilley Inn for your hospitality.

Though an older motel the rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. There were a number of TV channels to entertain most anyone and the a/c worked well. The staff (owners?) were very nice. The breakfast was basic: milk, sweet cereal, oatmeal, banana and white bread. No protein. Definitely a good option for an inexpensive night, just go out for breakfast in the morning. You saved enough on the room... Note there is an outdoor pool however in early September it was closed/under construction.

Do not stay here. Walked into the room to find giant cockroaches or some other type of giant cricket living in the room. Tried to ignore it until I found more in the bathroom. If that's not enough the fact that the pool was closed for what looks like at least the whole summer was also a let down. Not trying to ruin his business but clean it up.

Wow. I have never stayed in a hotel recommended by a travel website that was so crappy. First room was way too hot. Now, Texas gets hot, and the room was probably 85 or 90 when I walked in. The upholstered chair and ottoman were very stained. I asked for another room. AC worked better. TV had NO sound. Bug in bathtub. Really? I should have spent the extra money for more suitable accommodations.

I made a reservation through Expedia for a king size bed/non-smoking room at Antilley Inn. Upon arriving at this location, nothing on the outside screamed turn your car around and get out while you can. This location has pretty nice curb appeal, except the parking lot is badly cracked and falling apart and is close to a really good hospital. So, I parked, picked up my room key from the office and drove to find my room. Even through I was running late for a prior engagement I made time to check this room out since I've been having some really bad luck with some other Abilene hotels and motels. The only thing I noticed was that the room had two beds in it except the king sized bed I had reserved. I thought to go ahead to my meeting and speak to the clerk when I get back, I' m sure this was an honest mistake. Somewhere between 9 and 9:30 P.M. I return to the motel and advise the clerk that that was not the room I reserved and continued to explain that I was not interested in double beds. The clerk tells me that the air conditioning on the second floor where all the king size beds are was out of order and that' s why I was put in this room. He told me that it would takes very long time to get it cool. At no time when I checked in or now at 9 did the clerk now I learn he is the owner/operator at this location never offered me a refund so that I might find a king size bed somewhere else in Abilene. It gets worst. So now I' m stuck with this room that I don't want since it's one of those Expedia deals (no cancellation or refunds) and find a swatch of blood on the bathroom door. Did I mention the air conditioner in our room isn't working right either. I call the clerk, about the blood and the owner comes to the room and cleans the blood off with his thumb. He swears it' s not blood but jam and that he and his wife clean the rooms. Personally, I think blood would not be left on the bathroom door of a clean room, jam either. The coffee pot and other appliances are dusty. The toilet doesn't flush right. Yeah. Before I forget. The air conditioner is set to 60 and several hours pass and the room still feels stuffy and like it' s in the upper 70's. It's almost midnight and I finally get through to Expedia. And after several minutes on the phone with him I' m told that there is absolutely nothing that he can do for me. He' s also called the owner and tells me that he wants to put me in the hot room or I could get my money back without a penalty to get another room elsewhere. I told the man on the phone I'll stay, after all it is after midnight and my spouse is diabetic. I don't know about any of the other rooms but the room I had had termites outside the room door I killed one that had gotten inside but probably the worst part of all was that the room has a terrible problem with bed bugs. I woke up with several bites and two huge red blotches on my body and took picture to prove it. I believe this bad situation could have been handled better, I would have liked to have been told at check in that the king size room was not available and right then been offered a refund to relocate. The room mix up was no mistake. The only mistake was that I booked a room there through Expedia. Never again Expedia. Never again. Buyer beware and stay here if you dare.

Stayed here one night on a budget, & was nicely surprised! The property is a bit older, but well-kept. The rooms were a good size & a big comfy bed. Not a lot in walking distance, but the lake across the way was very pretty. :) would stay here again

It seems some reviewers are disillusioned about what this place is. This an old motel, but it is in decent shape, clean, everything in my room worked, the price was GREAT. If I had paid $100 a night I would have rated at a two or three. Part of why this motel is so highly rated is because of the low price. I checked in at 10pm and left at 8am, this was just a quick over night and I did not want to pay that much, but I wanted a clean place with decent furniture. If you want Newer and more Luxurious, pay more and go elsewhere. I am fine with a minimal continental breakfast, I just need toast anyway. I will admit the the bed was not the best, was a little lumpy. Look at the pictures, that is what you will get.

DON'T TRY TO SAVE MONEY AND STAY HERE. Find another $60-70 room. We checked in Saturday 4/18/15 about 10:30 PM. The check in process was ok except we had to do business at the side window. It seemed like doing some type of business in a alley. At 10:30 PM the front desk is closed.... REALLY. After our alley like checkin, when we got to the room on the second floor, the AC/Heat didn't work. I called the front desk and the front desk guy came to the room and banged on the window unit 15-20 times and said yea....it doesn't work. I'm guessing he probably woke the adjacent guests up with his "maintenance techniques". So...after his attempt of "fixing" the unit, he wanted me to come back to the front desk and get another key. I told him, NO just open a room.....I don't need a key. We got another room about 15-20 minutes after we originally checked in and tired from a long day of traveling. Then pulled the sheets back to go to bed sat on the bed and the bed felt like a box spring. BED WAS HORRIBLE!!!! THEN......guess what.... the TV remote didn't work. The guy came back and tried to use it, messed with the TV and responsed...your right it does't work. I told him we were not staying there and wanted our money. His response was, well you messed up the bed. LMAO. They did provide a return but I have not checked the credit card statement at this point. I agree with a previous posting from ISPUNKMAYER's Don't Stay Here Comments. It's sad for me to say negative things about Abilene cause I grew up there and went to a local college. But facts are facts. As I said earlier find another $60-70 hotel room.

Thanks to tripadvisor I can usually find a nice small place to stay for a reasonable price. The Antilley Inn is definitely one of these finds. I was greeted by a young, friendly and professional indian man who gave me a key even though my internet reservation had not cleared yet. I found a typical looking motel room at first glance, but the little things added up: First, there was no odor whatsoever, neither the musty or mildew odor often encountered due to various a/c issues, nor the "spring fresh" smell of a spray used to cover them up. The very comfortable king bed was a little firmer than average, saving me a sore back in the morning. The layout of the room is perfect to my taste, with a small table near the window, with 2 sturdy chairs and in clear sight of the TV. There is a separate small desk/table for my laptop. The WIFI internet is screaming fast, testing at 7 MPS downloads, which is as fast as anything I have found, and I have stayed in dozens of hotels as I traveled for the last 7 months. The TV is an older VDT model, but is a good size for the room. The service is a satellite provider and there is a decent channel selection. The controller provides an info button to help search not only for channels, but upcoming programs as well. That was a pleasant surprise, as usually there is no way to find a TV schedule other than to go on my laptop and hunt for the service providers in the area. The room has a mini-fridge, small microwave and coffee maker (with 2 ceramic mugs, a little touch of class over the typical styrofoam cups). The TV sits atop a mid-sized dresser, with 3 large drawers and an open drawer slot on top to give you an additional surface to dump your things. There are 2 nightstands on either side of the bed, and 2 wall lamps mounted a little higher than normal which is better for reading. There is a molded tub/shower compartment in the bathroom. The lavatory sink sits in a large counter outside the bathroom, again plenty of room for your stuff. The hot water came quickly to the tap. Everything was nice and clean. The room furnishings in general do not appear to be brand new, but are also not old or dated. The motel is 2 story without an elevator. My room was 1st floor right next to the office. It was nice to be able to park right outside the room and move my stuff in and out. There is a swimming pool but of course it is closed for the season as all outdoor pools are in every motel I have been in for several months. I am leaving such a long review partially because of the previous reviewer, who left a negative and obviously bogus review, probably for some personal reason not even addressed in his comments. I appreciate very much both the negative and positive comments of true reviewers, as that is the whole point, to help us choose what is important to us. Fortunately, the overwhelming positive recent reviewers made the picture clear for me. So to the cons: You will be provided with a real key, not a card, to get into your room. Doesn't really matter to me, but maybe to you. The door was hard to open, requiring a good tug. The bathroom door will not stay open, drifting to a closed position always. I'm not even sure why that bothers me. The hotel was nice and quiet, even though there were lots of cars, but anything occurring outside of my room I could hear clearly, so if there were a lot going on outside it might have been irritating inside. The bedside lamps are high enough to be awkward to turn off from the bed. The TV has a remote control, but the volume and power had to be adjusted on the TV. At first the remote didn't work at all, but was quickly fixed by the manager. The mini-fridge does not have a freezer compartment. The free breakfast is humble indeed, there is no breakfast room, just a set-up in the small lobby. I chose a banana and some toast and jelly, the only hot choice. There was also some cereal and oatmeal available. The coffee was weak, but of course you could make your own in the room.
