"Was fine for a quick overnight stay. Hotel feels a bit tired. The lift was order for the 2 days I was there, but as i was on the 1st floor not too inconvenient for me. Room was fine, again a bit tired with dark wood, limited electrical sockets and USB. Chipped bathroom doorframe and brown/ grey room colours. Air con unit / heater working but a bit noisy and bulky. Good provision of tea and coffee / safe / and a mini fridge which is a bonus these days. Good breakfast with ample selection and opening times."

" I wanted to share a review of the wonderful experience I had during my stay last night. As someone who works in hospitality, I’d say I’m probably fussier than most and Parkgate certainly had a strong reputation to live up to - but it absolutely delivered. Every member of staff I encountered was polite, friendly, approachable, and incredibly attentive. From the doorman to reception, the waiting staff in The Sorting Room and cocktail bar, as well as room service and the spa team - everyone contributed to making my stay so enjoyable. I only wish I could thank each of them personally and I hope this review is passed on. I did try to take note of a few names. There was a lovely lady on reception at the spa who arranged my booking, and Lucy, my therapist, who was exceptional. She was warm, professional, and attentive throughout - regularly checking in to ensure I was comfortable. It was genuinely one of the most relaxing massages I’ve ever had. At afternoon tea Nicola and Massimiliano (I think) in the restaurant couldn’t have been more accommodating, it was both filling and beautifully presented. While the room itself was lovely, it was truly the staff and overall experience that made my stay so memorable. I’ll absolutely be recommending the Parkgate and look forward to returning.
