We decided to go for afternoon tea on a day trip to Cardiff, We could not of chosen a better place to enjoy this luxuries treat with the family, From the moment we arrived the staff ( I believe his name was Richard ) made us very welcome and sat us down with a great view overlooking Cardiff city centre. Service was brilliant and the sweet and savoury bites were delightful. I especially enjoyed the scones while the children really enjoyed the fine selection of pastries that were on offer, The Bellini was was perfect and my wife had a lovely non alcoholic cocktail as she is a non drinker. The children were brought juices. After we finished we took a short stroll to the Christmas markets and shopping attractions. If you have an hour to spare in Cardiff especially on a wet day then this experience I would highly recommend . Thanks to all staff for giving us a wonderful afternoon, we will be back.

Went to the Clayton hotel for my fiancé’s birthday and the staff was friendly and attentive. When we received the food there were two types of sandwiches ham and mustard ( I should note that I’m not a fan of mustard but this was perfectly rationed and not overpowering and tasted great) And cucumber (which I don’t like luckily the mr did ) Now not being fussy just pointing it out but traditional sandwiches have atleast 3-5 different selection of sanqhiches (we did ask for no salmon on the phone but still they could have substituted for another filling. The balsamic onion and cheese pastry was warm crispy and lush The scones my fiancé really enjoyed however because I can’t eat any sort of currants I requested one be plain but this request wasn’t filled out (made me very unhappy) But still there was plenty of cakes left to eat on the top layer Now the top layer of cakes This was disappointing. They all looked so nice but there were so many cakes but only one bite of everything ( tradition depicts the same amount of mini cakes and stuff for each persons at the table) It would have been better for two of everything even if they reduced the amount that was on the place Tea was amazing as it was twinings (had a choice of earl grey or English breakfast) Presecco Was nice We also had a unpleasant experience when we smelt a foul small like rotting milk. When my partner went to grab a sugar from inside the pot he realised milk had been spilt and left to fester in the sugar pot (smelt foul it was stomach turning) Overall lovely afternoon tea slight disappointment in places and seems to be a general lack of care to detail ; this is detail to orders upon booking and a lack of cleaning care. General improvement of these is nessecary ! Honestly unsure as to if I’d go again

Central hotel close to the Railway Stn and city ctr.. clean rooms, comfy beds and staff we’re lovely 👍 Parking not too far away but a bit pricey, cheaper car parks further afield but only if you want a good walk after a long drive. 😏

Spent two nights Sunday to Tuesday here with the wife for a short break . Very close to the central station and near to all bars and restaurants near to Principality stadium. The hotel check in was efficient and friendly. Room was clean and functional and suited the budget break we were looking for. The only minor gripe was the morning we had breakfast most of the hot food we had was warm not hot Otherwise very good

Stayed for four nights on a "deal" that included a three course evening meal. The hotel was fine, clean with very good friendly staff. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice, both hot and cold. However, the three course evening meal was not off the standard menu but a "special" menu which was the same every evening. Couldn't face it a fourth time so ate out at a nice French Restaurant nearby. Not only was the choice limited, it was poorly prepared with re-heated chips etc. Avoid the special menu!

Lovely 2 night stay here for a hen party considering it was a busy weekend with the boxing! Smooth check in and out Service. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was great and a nice atmosphere in the bar. I would come back seeing as it was good enough for Carl froch stay here!!!

This hotel is well placed for all the shops and restaurants, its only minutes from the Cardiff central station, the hotel is very clean and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful to your requests will definitely be going back again.

Excellent central hotel. Next to the train station and lots of bars, pubs and places to eat. St Davids shopping centre is a 2 min walk away. We had a DBB offer which was excellent value. We were on the 9th floor and could see Cardiff Bay fireworks and we could see the sea! Rooms were a bit warm but I slept all night. I was surprised that I couldn't hear the trains below us. Water and ice dispenser in the corridor. Bottles of water, tea coffee and biscuits in the room. Would highly recommend if you want a city break. We just missed the Christmas markets. They were putting them all up but maybe a week too early.

I stayed here for a night out with friends. My friend had booked online and there was some confusion on arrival as we had booked a triple room but they only had one person staying on record. We were told we would need to pay £10 extra for breakfast per person however the cost went up from £70 to £110. There was no coffee in the room, only tea although there is also bottled water. On returning from our night out, the receptionist was busy with other guests so we didn't want to wait so went without coffee. There is a security guard at night checking names of guests entering against the list from check in so you can be assured the hotel is quite safe. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fine. The hotel is in a good location- close to bars, shops, restaurants and the train station.

Experienced a wonderful stay at this great city hotel. Had a fantastic view from our top floor room, with great facilities, expresso coffee machine, lovely fluffy robes and most importantly, extremely clean. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The restaurant had lovely view and atmosphere with a delicious menu to choose from at an acceptable rate. We look forward to visiting again for some Christmas shopping! Special thanks to Jason Court for the room upgrade.
