It has great character with a beautiful staircase and chandelier. It is being renovated and is in need of some updating. Staff was lovely. Parking referenced was closed, there is a convenient lot across the street but requires payment.

Fantastic location and all the staff really friendly. Room was comfortable enough for the price. Lifts not working at time of my visit but other than that had a good stay and would go back.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We were given a lovely quiet room which was very clean and comfortable. There are plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and of course Cardiff castle nearby.

We have stayed before and it was shame that this time the lifts did not work and the car park was no longer accessible. However, the current listing did not mention either of these, so others would not be expecting these facilities. The room was mostly clean but there was a lot of dust and rubbish behind the radiators and TV. The shower while hot leaked and there was no pressure in the bathroom hot tap. While recycling is encouraged, it is mostly leave it on the desk, including the teabags. This just felt untidy. We paid for an upgrade and while the room was bigger, it would have been nice to have some water and maybe biscuits. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although, one afternoon at the bar there was no one to be found, so we went to another bar in town. The Angel is very central and is a lovely building with lots of history. However, the needs to be some attention to detail and cleaning in the out of view places. Breakfast was nice, with lots of choice.

We stayed room only. We had a lovely big room for the 3 of us (2 adults and a teenager). It suited our needs perfectly. It was clean and tidy.

Bra beliggenhet. Hotellet har sett sine beste dager, heisen er «midlertidig» ute av drift, og har nok vært det noen måneder…. Sikkert et flott hotell i sin tid, men nå skriker det «renovering» høyt og tydelig!

Room was great for the price 👍 BUT was on the 3rd floor and lift was broken. General areas were comfortable and clean. Big shout to our room maid who was super helpful and so polite and cheerful.

Building was a bit tired and the elevators were not working at all while we were there. Even though there were only three flights of stairs the carpet makes it tiring to walk up. Room was relatively hot but keeping the bathroom door closed helped, as did the large fan in the room. There were only a couple of outlets by the desk to use. Bed was a bit saggy but tolerable. Very convenient location to the market with lots of food and drink options, and castle and park across the street. Breakfast buffet had lots of selection and was a great way to start the day.

Great location opposite cardiff castle and near queen street with lots of banks eateries and shops. Hotel had helpful friendly housekeeping staff, topped up cleaned and helped with the luggage with a smile. Food was good and well priced for a hotel. Reception staff a bit untrained. They were confused on two occasions on duration of my stay and how to program the card. Each time was a different staff. I stayed for 10 days and twice my cards got deprogrammed and I had to trudge back three flights down to reception to get it programmed again! BIggest issue : LIFT DID NOT WORK DURING MY ENTIRE STAY, I had to climb up three flights of stairs to get to my room. And I had to shop for school and dorm supplies and haul it up and then find the card was not working on two separate occasions and carry it back down to reception and back up again. Staff said it was an old lift so they were waiting for spare parts to be shipped from the US!! I would not have bookeda hotel without a lift. Even with a working lift you have to carry the luggage up from hotel doors to reception ! The room also does not have a mini fridge.so its hard to store milk or cheese or drinks. Fire alarms kept going off several times.
