Zurich is the capital of Switzerland and is famous for its architecture, churches, and museums. Rome is the capital of Italy and is known for its historical structures, basilicas, and food. If you want to leave one capital to visit the other, book flights from Zurich to Rome with Orbitz.com.
Kloten Airport, also called Zurich Airport, is located eight miles from the city’s center. If you are departing from Zurich, you can choose from a variety of transportation options to get to your terminal. The Zurich Airport railway station is the most efficient way to get to the airport if you prefer public transportation, and it has many pickup spots across the region. You can even get connecting trains from as far away as Munich, Germany. If you want to park your car instead, car parks P1, P2, and P3 are adjacent to the terminal, while P5 is a five-minute walk and is less expensive. Frequent travelers can rent personal parking spots for a cost starting at 400 Swiss francs (CPH) for a three-month period.
The Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport is located approximately twenty-two miles from Rome’s city center. The Fiumicino Aeroporto railway station is a popular way to get from the airport to your hotel or other destination. The train leaves to Termini Station, the main station in Rome, every thirty minutes. Several other trains leave for other parts of the city every fifteen minutes. Buses and taxis are both available just outside the arrivals area as well. When you get into the city, visit the Colosseum and the Pantheon, two historical structures that help to tell the story of Rome’s past. Visit in May, when temperatures are a pleasant 74°F and there aren’t as many tourists packing the bustling streets as in the summer or early fall.
Orbitz.com can help you find flights from Zurich to Rome at a discount. If you need a rental car or hotel, book a package deal along with your flight. You can use the money you save to buy some souvenirs when you get to Rome.
