Fly to Zurich Airport

Zurich Airport (ZRH) is the principle hub for Swiss International Air Lines and the largest international airport in Switzerland. This facility is located about 8 miles north of Zurich.

History of Zurich Airport

Zurich Airport (ZRH) began operations in 1943 inside the Canton of Zurich, however the first flights off the west runway did not occur until around 1948.

A brand new terminal opened up in 1953 with a celebration that included an air show that lasted for three days.
Today, there are three terminals that are referred to as A, B and E.
Terminal Information

Terminal A originally opened in 1972 and is used for domestic flights as well as flights to all destinations in the Schegen area. Terminal B contains gates B and D and has been renovated several times since it first opened in 1971. The terminal is now designed to handle both Schegen and non-Schegen flights.

Terminal E is also known as the midfield terminal or Dock E. It is located in between runways 16/34 and 14/32. It is used for all non-Schengen international flights and was first opened for operation in 2003.

Interested travelers can fly to Zurich Airport (ZRH) via Air Berlin, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Delta Air Lines, US Airways, and several other major airlines.
