Flying Out of San Francisco

The San Francisco International Airport is located near the Highway 380 and Highway 101 junction, 13 miles south of downtown San Francisco. Ten airlines offer flights from San Francisco to Frankfurt, including Delta Airlines, Air France, American Airlines and United Airlines.

If you need to leave your car at the airport while you travel, the airport has two long-term parking options for international travelers. International garages A & G offer long-term parking for $28 per day. The long-term garage offers parking for $18 per day. Bay Area Rapid Transit, known as BART, runs from downtown San Francisco to the SFO BART Station in the International Terminal. You can take BART to the airport for between $7 and $8.50, depending on what part of San Francisco you're coming from. You can also take a taxicab to the airport for approximately $37.

Flights arriving from San Francisco arrive at the Frankfurt Airport. The airport is located on Hugo-Eckner Ring 1, 7.5 miles from central Frankfurt. You can get from the airport to the city by taking a bus, train, taxicab or rental car. The train station is located in B Concourse of Terminal 1 on Level 0. Buses stop outside of both terminals at 10-minute intervals. Taxicabs are also available outside of the terminals 24 hours per day. Frankfurt has a temperate, oceanic climate with warm summers and cold winters. Winter temperatures average in the mid-30s, and summer temperatures average in the 60s.
