Wichita is a city buzzing with restaurants, museums, public gardens, and nightlife. There is something for everyone, from the range of open air shopping centers to cute antique stores, to a choice of theatre and art exhibitions, or a dine-while-you-watch movie at Warren Theatres.
Wichita has a focus on nature, with many hiking and biking trails in the area, as well as the beautiful Great Plains Nature Center. The Sedgwick County Zoo is the seventh largest in the USA, and the Tanganyika Wildlife Park offers interactive feeding experiences with the animals.
Wichita features 33 museums, many of them in the Museums on the River District, so you can immerse yourself in American Art, the Old West and First Nations history all in one day!
When you fly to Wichita Mid-Continent Airport (ICT), there are four different shuttle van services. Three companies run services to downtown Wichita, while the fourth, Border to Border, runs services to other cities. If you are renting a car or hailing a taxi, the drive is less than eight miles to Wichita central.
If you re puckish head to the Redrock Canyon Grill for a classic Southern dining experience, or The Old Mill Tasty Shop for a hearty sandwich.
