Wonderfully quaint inn converted from 1800's home. Lots of character, common rooms/sitting areas for guests to gather, nice Keurig coffee machine. Stayed in room 27....small but comfortable. Bathroom heat a problem as in no apparent heat? Enjoyed breakfast in dining room. Pricey but excellent quality. Host and server, Richard, outstanding people person. 5- 6:30 each day, complimentary wine and cheese served. Enjoyed that while meeting other guests. Will stay here again.

Had we read a few more reviews we would not have stayed here. Beneath the 5 star reviews were the more recent, poorer reviews that were more accurate. First, there is no staff. You’ll be inundated with hotels.com messages from somewhere, but once you arrive there is no one. There was a friendly lady on site for “happy hour”, but was of no help. Second, with no one on site, don’t expect anything to be fixed or changed. We specifically chose a room with a fireplace for romantic finishes to our couple of days in a winter wonderland (we live in Texas). One of the first things we tried to do was start the fireplace in our room. To our disappointment, it wouldn’t turn on. Even after repeated attempts and several reviews of the “instructions”, no fire. We were given a phone number in one of the many messages to contact for any issues. We texted and called from our phone. There’s no room phone. To this day we have yet to get a response. As we tried to enjoy a glass of wine during happy hour, we spoke to the lady offering the wine and snacks. She took our room number and said she would have a gentleman come check it out. Nothing. We didn’t even see the lady again the rest of our stay. There are was no way to change rooms, paper thin walls, etc., etc., but you get the gist. This was once a highly regarded and lovely place to stay according to other reviews. Sadly, new ownership is letting it sink unmanned. We aren’t even expecting a response to this review.

Easy check-in, we were texted a door code in advance. Very quaint and pretty Inn. Staff were very nice and accommodating, specifically Stacey. The on-premise restaurant is amazing, we ended up having dinner and breakfast there. Bartender, Rita was great.

Beautiful, quiet inn. We stayed Saturday through Tuesday after the holidyas, so it was especially quiet, just what we wanted. Staff was incredibly attentive and engaging, rooms were unique and comfortable. I highly recommend The Jackson. We will be returning in the spring to see the grounds!

The staff was absolutely lovely. The Inn has a complimentary wine and cheese spread from 1730-1830. The hotel staff is on hand and its a great way to get to know fellow travelers and the staff themselves. My friend and I went both nights we were there and talked with Dave, one of the owners and the second night we spoke with Shawn (spelling?) We talked of books and going to Connecticut, to Yale and Mystic for Pizza.

Friend of mine and I stayed overnight just to check out Vermont (I had always wanted to go there). We both LOVED this place. Very charming, lovely decor, and great food--especially at dinner. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Would definitely recommend this place and return again in the future.

The town was cute. The hotel/lodging was just okay. No one to greet us on arrival. You were to hit a button for service. Then a voice came over the phone and asked if you received via text the code to your room. That was the only exposure we had any humans with regard to the room. We stayed for two nights at a cost of approximately $450 per night. Our room was not made up after the first day. Breakfast which we thought for some reason was included was not. Although there was breakfast you just had to pay for it. I will say the restaurant was absolutely fabulous. The food was delicious. I wouldn't stay there again but I would definitely go to that restaurant again. The facility did not seem to have much for the price one paid.

The staff was amazing. Our room was so cute and quaint. The location was impeccable. The house was kept up very nicely. The welcoming with wine and cheese was very nice as well. We will definitely be back.

Room #14 - from arriving at the property, the place looked nice, it's Mid November in Vermont, so the trees looked dead, and the leaves are all gone and on the ground, but still, I had a very warm impression of the place. Everything was proper, good workmanship,good quality.... only distracted by all the dead looking plants and dead leaves, but i know , that's November in Vermont.The room was ready before 3PM and they texted us, so we arrived at 1:30PM.. used the code to enter , and what a nice place. A nice fire going in one lounge room, and our room was very nice, nice heavy linen sheets, thick heavy bath towels, thick heavy bath robes, beautiful hardwood floors, beautiful excellent furnishings, beautiful crown moldings, high thick baseboards, very nice.... gives me a quality feeling. We went out to have dinner early and upon returning, we were greeted by Patty, what a great woman. We had long enjoyable conversations of a lot of things, apparently, many celebs come or own properties nearby.... Patty mentioned Alec Baldwin, Tom Cruise's X has a place here... ! I shared with Patty my encounters of Adam Sandler, Matt Damon, Ellen DeGeneres, Ann Heche in Rockport, MA , when we owned property and business in Bearskin Neck, Rockport, Ma. We had great time with Patty.The next morning, we met Richard while having breakfast at Oakes and Evelyn. He says he's "just" a cog-in-the-wheel,i suspect he's much higher than that.He was Super nice, a Real person,and very Generous.
