Hotel and spas in West Alameda
What should I bring to a spa hotel?Taking a trip to a spa hotel is all about relaxing and leaving the world behind, so take clothes that are light, casual and easy to slip into. Track pants and T-shirts are a great choice. Bathrobes and slippers are traditional spa attire, but these are usually supplied by the resort. Considering going for a dip in the swimming pool or trying out a yoga class? Throw some gym wear, trainers and a swimsuit into your suitcase too. If your hotel has an on-site restaurant, find out if dress codes apply — you may need to take a stylish outfit to wear to dinner.

Hilton San Francisco Union Square
4/5 Good
"Unsure as to why I kept waking up to bite marks; other than that everything was great. Easy check in, parking is available and staff were great."

Handlery Union Square Hotel
4/5 Good
"You can't beat the location of this hotel, it was very central and easy to take public transport around it. The pool is a nice added bonus, it was warmed though unfortunately SF was too cold for us to truly enjoy the pool, though there was plenty of other people who seemed to be enjoying it. The staff was very professional and helpful. The lobby was very nice as well. Now the hotel itself is definitely run down. Our room was over in the "premium" section which was not at all premium. Perhaps in the main building the rooms are nicer but our area it was definitely run down and in great need of some basic upgrading. This extended into our rooms as well. The beds were not that comfortable, the bathroom had some traces of leftover hair and the water in the shower would stop for 1 second, not enough to make it uncomfortable but definitely strange. Hair is tricky and I'm sure they cleaned so it didn't bother me but its just an extra level of detail they are not checking. I never mentioned this to the staff as in the end I was able to live with it but I'm certain they would have made it right if I had asked. Though I'd definitely look around for options first I wouldn't exclude this hotel from future stays. It is definitely good enough and definitely the location and pool are really great to have so I would stay again if the price was right."
