Great spot to unwind

Nothing beats a beach house. The home is well maintained and clean. Perfect for our 2-couple group. Bedrooms and bathrooms are generously sized. Kitchen is well appointed. Sitting/TV room on 2nd floor is very comfortable and a great spot to wind down in the evenings.Quiet and friendly little neighborhood. Dolphins and seals swim by every morning. Easy drive in to Ventura, Summerland and Santa Barbara

Great oceanfront property.

This is a lovely beach home with unbeatable views. It has a well-stocked kitchen. It would have been nice to be able to use the fireplace. There were a few little maintenance issues that need to be attended to, but they didn’t hinder our enjoyment of the house.

Amazing Christmas time

Beautiful home, great location, clean , perfect kitchen very well maintained, unbeatable view, great accommodations for a family of four, we had the most wonderful experience ever, a quiet peaceful beautiful place , we had a great breakfast at a The Cliff House Restaurant, my wife loved the French toast , the restaurant was a 3 minutes walking distance from the house , we definitely enjoyed our time and we will love to be back soon 🙏

PERFECT LOCATION

THERE WAS NO INFO ON THE LOCK BOX FOR THE FRONT DOOR ....SO THAT WAS AN IMMEDIATE CONCERN BUT THE NEIGHBOR HELPED .....THE FIRE DOD NOT WORK ...AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF IT HAD ....BUT THE LOCATION MADE UP FOR ALL SHORTCOMINGS .THANKS SO MUCH WOULD BOOK AGAIN .CHEERS!!.JR

STUNNING LOCATION

This is probably one of the best trips we have ever been on. The house was exactly what was shown on the photos of the listing plus more! There’s three bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has a phenomenal huge walk-in closet and a Jacuzzi type bathtub/shower which was perfect for bathtime since we had our toddler with us. There are two rooms that share a balcony that overlooks the ocean, one is the master bedroom and the second is an extra room with couches and a TV. The second bedroom is facing the front of the house which has a street view. I wish they had made the two bedrooms that share the balcony overlooking the ocean into the two bedrooms but they did not. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you would need. The washer dryer worked great and they had some detergent available. The post says that they have baby oil and rags to clean the tar off your feet, during our stay that was not available. I would bring some with you because you definitely do get some tar on your feet. The little patio outside is beautiful and perfect to sit and enjoy the ocean view, we saw many dolphins swimming! There are two tables that have two umbrellas, one umbrella is broken and not functionable. The beach is absolutely breathtaking, it’s a couple steps away from the front patio. Some people complained that there was a lot of tar, only one time towards the end I did get tar on my feet but majority of the time I didn’t even notice the tar. It is a private beach , we basically had the beach to ourselves our entire state, we maybe saw 4 to 5 people just on a walk throughout the entire four days we were there. There is a little hotel about two minutes away that does have a restaurant but the hours are limited. It was a quick 10 minute drive to downtown Ventura where we were able to go out for dinner, bars, farmers market etc. The only downfall of this place is that it only sleeps four according to the rental company. However there is an official sign posted on the house that says it does sleep eight. We tried to discuss that with the rental company because we wanted to rent this house for months at a time in the future with about six people but they refused so we had to cancel our future reservations. The house can definitely sleep more than four but unfortunately that is their policy.

Pros- beautiful location, peaceful, close to Santa Barbara and Malibu. Has most kitchen appliances and utensils. Cons-Amenities not listed well on website. e.g. there are 900+ paper coffee filters in pantry because guests purchase the base 200 pack not knowing 800 are at house. Same with bags of ice. Master shower has huge step down with no handles for in/out access. Tar from oil Derricks get on feet/shoes when walking beach.

Dolphins

Amazing location. Each day we enjoyed our coffee while watching dolphins play. We felt like we had the beach to ourselves. It’s a great getaway! Loved everything about it.

Beautiful Condominium, Fabulous View

Location, location, location ! Directly on the beach. Open the door & the ocean is before you. Large spacious rooms. This was our second year. If you are staying for over a week and plan to do some cooking bring some kitchen knives .

Nice getaway

We had our trip in mid November. The location is secluded so during this time the beach is pretty empty. There was the occasional surfer and walker. Other than that the view is spectacular and the location is perfect for privacy. The house is a little dated, but overall it was nice. The kitchen supplies/cooking utensils were lacking, but overall doable. The 6 burner stove and double oven is great! Patio had comfortable seating and the stairway to the beach was perfect! If you check in after dark be sure you use your phone flashlight, you’ll need it to navigate your way to the main entrance via side of the house which is poorly lit. Overall, for the privacy and beachfront it was perfect. The rooms upstairs are a good size and the view from the masterbdrm is beautiful. There are 3 full bathrooms and the outdoor shower to rinse off. The views from the living room and kitchen are stunning. the location is not close to a local market so you’ll need to plan ahead to bring your groceries and other items. A store run could run you an hour depending on traffic.

THE HOUSE NEEDS ATTENTION! The owners should be ashamed.

The owners have given very little if any thought as to making this a more homey, comfortable and inviting property. It appears that they do not use this place as a home but as a rental property where everything is "on the cheap." We would not rent this property unless new substantial improvements had been made. We are aware of one other property on the same beach where other members of our family stayed. Comparing the two homes was like night and day. The place we rented was a few hundred dollars less per night than the other property, but what they got and we didn't made either that property a bargain or our property a rip off. They had, and we did not have, a modern chef's kitchen (not an outdated '80s kitchen), warming drawer, wine storage, beautiful furniture, fully stocked kitchen utensils and supplies, working gas fireplace, hot tub on the roof, den with billiard table, three car garage that was available for the use of guests, unlike our property where the garage was locked. When we discovered that our owners had not even bothered to provide a barbeque , we complained to Home Away and apparently they passed on the message and there was a new one with two cans of propane on the deck when we arrived. (The owners previously said that their obligation to provide an outside grill had been satisfied when they bought a "George Foreman grill" which would be great if you were a freshman in a college dorm. It, along with a mini-toaster oven, looked like they had never been used. There were many areas that are in disrepair, in need of paint and working parts, such as doors, locks, windows. The furniture and carpets are tattered and not clean. The porcelain sinks are dirty and stained. Be prepared to be a contortionist/acrobat to get in and out of the master shower/bath. It is an accident waiting to happen. There was a total lack of any kind of cleaning supplies other than dishwashing and washing machine detergent. We didn't appreciate looking at broken shelves in the master closet. The silverware was totally lacking, there were only two teaspoons. There was only one hook to be found in any of the closets or bathrooms. On the positive side, the Home Away property managers were very attentive and responsive. They should consider delisting the property. It gives them a bad reputation.

Great relaxing family escape

We were very pleased with the property. Exactly what we needed to get away from work/school for a week. Here's a few things we noted: - The place is really lovely, but it does show some wear from use and sea air that isn't visible in the pictures. Treat the pictures like those 'glamor shots' people used to get in the mall, and your expectations will be met :). This is the reason I gave it 4/5 for cleanliness - it's not really that it's not clean; more that it's just a little worn. But hey, it's a *rental* property *on the beach*, so it's reasonable to expect this. - The beach is not at all crowded, and the sand is really nice. For a 'wild' beach (i.e. without anyone paid to keep it clean, like in a resort), it's really clean and pretty. Great for kids to run around on. You can walk pretty far along to the northwest, which is great for those 'long walks on the beach'. There's a very small amount of tar that *sometimes* gets on the bottom of your feet. Comes off really easy with baby oil, and it's not a big deal at all. - There's a reason surfers come to this beach: the waves are pretty substantial. Fun if you're not too delicate and a strong swimmer (there are boogie boards included!). Probably not good for small kids to swim in, but they'll have loads of fun jumping over the small waves right up on the beach. There were several other families in neighboring houses, and they had small kids, who did fine. - It doesn't look like it on the map, but depending on traffic, it can feel like you're pretty far from Santa Barbara and Ventura (definitely from L.A.). We were there to get away from civilization, so we just picked up groceries in Ventura and stayed home to watch the waves. Perfect for us. There's a nice row of restaurants in Ventura too - I'd recommend that. The rental company (turnkey) did a great job communicating with us, and checkin/checkour was super easy.

WOW!!!!

That beautiful ocean sound is something I never get tired of seeing and hearing and the views from this home is amazing, we even got to watch a pod of dolphins playing I would suggest updating the carpet as they are white and very dirty I would also suggest they have the heat on when guest arrive we were very cold when we arrived But I loved having so much space and being able to walk down to the beach right outside our doors and yummy restaurants in walking distance I would definitely recommend this place

Incredible Beach Getaway

This place is truly a gem! There are very few places where the beach is right outside your back door. Not across the road - right there. The house was clean and very spacious. It is on a very secluded beach with very few people around except for the immediate neighbors. If you are looking to escape the hustle-bustle and just chill on the beach, this is the place for you. Only minor downsides are the weak wifi connection and lack of many nearby restaurants, but it's easily worth it to have the pacific ocean all to yourself!
