Didn’t receive notification that the pool AND the restaurant would not be available for the duration of my stay until the night before my check-in. The pool was closed in October for renovations but was not contacted until the night before check-in in December. The location is great, and I’m sure things will be better once anticipated reno’s are completed. Bar was VERY loud every night especially between 1-2am, so much so that you could sing along with the music. Only night they are closed is Sundays (plus Christmas Eve & Christmas Day). Elevators were packed with only 3 family members with suitcases and extremely slow. Lodgers need to tap key inside elevator to activate the lift, which wasn’t explained to some clients who had to be rescued a time or two. Front desk was always busy with a lineup but it was over Christmas and there was lots of activity with tours, car rentals and customer service. I loved the location. Nice walk to Chinatown, Gastown & downtown amenities. Approved pickup location for various local tour operators, negating the issue of having to walk somewhere to meet connecting transfers. Overall, would recommend but be aware of buildings deficits that are not advertised. Looking forward to going back once renovations are completed.

Very reasonable hotel to stay downtown Vancouver , comfortable and away from noise for a good sleep. Unfortunately no one seems to know there's a difference between a double bed and a queen size bed. I specifically booked this hotel because it was advertised as 2 queens in the room, after discovering inside the room it was actually 2 double beds I asked at reception and was assured the room had 2 queens..... Well I guess my arm width grew between home and driving to the hotel making the bed seem smaller!? (Not really, just falsely advertising double beds as queens). Unfortunately the cleanliness was let down by the shower having random hairs spread around its floor.

Stayed 4 nights and our room was not cleaned at all, despite requesting daily housekeeping. We were also issued a parking ticket even though parking had already been paid for. We brought this to the front desk and were told it was handled and not to worry. Two months later, I received a letter in the mail stating the ticket had been sent to collections. Would not stay again or recommend.

Arrived to find hotel under major renovations in the lobby and pool now permanently closed. I did not see this on the Expedia website for the hotel. Very noisy renovations. Very. Bathroom light was out in my room. Staff attentive but no maintenance person available after 8 pm so they asked if I wanted to stay in my room or move. I had already settled in and chose to stay. FANTASTICALLY COMFORTABLE BED AND PILLOWS! Unbeknownst to me, restaurant is closed for renovations. Unfortunate. This is part of the reason I chose this hotel (and I've been there before.) I had to walk 2 blocks to the nearest restaurant for supper. Apparently some breakfast available on mezzaine floor but I didn't bother and walked out to a coffee shop/bakery for breakfast. Unable to get any even slight discount on bill for the bathroom light problem, etc. because I had 'booked through a third party.' Hmm. Expedia should take some responsibility for not alerting customers of what was happening at hotel, etc.

Close to shopping and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very hot on our first night, but we just turned off the heater and opened the window a little bit to let cool air in (although it was noisy with the window open as our room was facing the street). Good selection at the hot breakfast buffet.
