We ask for slippers and it took forever, when the slippers finally came its bad quality. My slippers ripped in the front after less than a day of wearing them. Hotel in this price range shouldn’t be this cheep

We decided to upgrade our room to a suite to be more confortable (family of 4 with 2 girls 6 and 8). It came to us as a surprise that the sofa bed was an old couch in which you could feel the metal springs on your back and squeaking noises when you moved. One of the girls ended up sleeping with us making making it useless to pay extra. The following day upon departure we went to have brunch and went through the door by the lobby. There was no sign or anything that indicated we had to go through another door and checkin. We started serving our plates and sat down at a table (there were 15+ tables available) and the waiter asked us to go through the other door and check in. My 8 year old was wandering around serving fruit... I went to checkin and told me it would be a 10min wait... when there was no line, tables available and my daughter with a plate of food standing. We decided to leave, to my opinion there was a great lack of judgment by their part. Ordered room service one day before for breakfast and when we came back they did not take all the food and there were fruit flies al over the plate.

There is no parking so you end up paying an extra $80/day for parking on top of your room fee. I didn’t have a member number so had to pay $25 for one day of wifi. I don’t mind paying to be at a nice hotel but I don’t like being “nickel and dimed” at every corner.

Don’t waste your time staying at a Fairmont.

Staff was snobby, room was very small, air conditioning didn’t work, parking was twice as much as the staff said it would be. Too expensive given the experience.

“Lighted” mirror in the bathroom did not work. Bathroom sort of small in the standard double queen room, but understandable given the age of the property. Mattresses on both queen beds had major dips on the nightstand side where most people would sleep. Nice toiletry items. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location.

This is an outstanding, classic and very elegant old school hotel in the center of downtown. It reminded us of the Plaza in NYC. Much is easily accessible, including Gastown and the waterfront. If you travel light and have a cruise booked, you can even easily walk to the docks and check in to your ship, though cabs are abundant. We booked a suite and were given a room that was impeccably appointed, not to mention spacious, with a huge walk-in closet and windows with multiple views of the city - one of the best rooms we've ever had. As for the staff, we've rarely encountered greater courtesy and professionalism. This is truly a 5 star hotel without pretentiousness. We couldn't recommend this hotel more highly.
