La Grande Residence Vancouver at The Sutton Place Hotel

Centrally located, close to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Walkable to Granville St, Gastown, Chinatown, Coal Harbor, Granville Island, Art Museum and the Cruise ship docks. Easy to get around.

We think this is a great place to stay with a family since there is a sofa bed in he living area, which we used with our son. Our room had been recently upgraded and was in a very good condition. While the hotel has tried to deal with the fact that there was no original air conditioning installed by placing a stand alone air conditioner in the living space, we found that the separate bedroom area stayed uncomfortably warm for us. Granted, Vancouver has a mild climate and likely doesn't need air conditioning on an all-the-time basis, it still is nice to have when it is needed. Unfortunately we fronted Burrard Street and that meant we could not open the window without a great deal of street noise. The other issue was the charge to have internet in the room which we decided to forego since we had our mobile carriers to fall back on to get the internet access we wanted even if it was on roaming to do it. Since other hotels also often have this charge we will not consider it out of the norm but mention it. There is wifi in the public areas but we didn't use it to be able to comment on it. So, the AC issue is really the only negative that we can post. We were totally happy with the public rooms of the hotel, housekeeping, the full kitchen, fluffy bath towels and its location. We would consider staying here again for the fact that everything besides the bedroom air conditioning was very good.

We were in Vancouver on Canada Day, Canada's 150th birthday. Sutton Place was only a few blocks from Canada Place where the main events were taking place. We arrived early in the morning having disembarked from a cruise ship. Sutton Place was very happy to hold our luggage while we explored Vancouver. The staff, including check-in people, bellman and concierge, we're all very friendly and efficient. We stayed 2 evenings. They even helped us arrange ground transportation. The hotel was a little pricey but that may have been due to the Canada Day celebrations. The city was bursting at the seams with visitors. I would choose Sutton Place again.

Loved the area around the hotel. Lots of walking to places. We rented a car so everything is expensive (garage at hotel) but practical to go places farther away.

We were very happy with our stay! Staff was excellent. Room was comfortable and clean.

Clean. Good restaurant. Pleasant staff. Slow elevators.

Wonderful accommodations with a great location. Valet was a bit expensive.

Pulling up to the hotel it appears to be very impressive the hotel staff the Bellman the valet are very helpful and very very nice the inside looks immaculate our room was a two bedroom suite which was in Immaculate condition and very comfortable smelled great would definitely stay here again

My favorite hotel in Vancouver. Great facility and location.

Overall experience was very good. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen. The room was comfortable, spacious and perfect for a family of 4. Only issues we had was with some improperly functioning toilets.

Best hotel we have stayed to date. The only thing with a little flaw is the wifi. Personally I think it should be free un less you upgrade to the premium. Other than that we had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Much recommend! !!

Our package price did not include the breakfast and the WiFi. Please check carefully.

The one bedroom suite is good enough for four people staying (coz there's a sofa bed), and the kitchenette with all the essentials needed is an excellent extra!

The lobby is fantastic! Vaulted ceilings, shining marble, and opulent accroutements all-around. The staff is professional, courteous, and full of knowledge of the hotel, the area, and things to do and see. My room was spacious, very clean, and nicely appointed with a flat screen TV in both the living/front room and bedroom. There was plenty of storage space for luggage, clothes, and shopping at all the nearby stores. The bathroom was very clean and each day the splendid staff replaced the free amenities to make my stay just that much nicer. I would definitely recommend this property to those who want to visit Vancouver.

We were disappointed with a few things at this hotel. It was old and needed a face lift. The first thing I noticed when I stepped in the door was 2 patched holes in the wall. They were spackled but weren't even painted. The carpet and furniture were very old. They charged extra for WIFI, parking, business office, & breakfast. There were a few positives. The location was great. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning. The bed was very comfortable. All in all I thought it was over priced. Certainly not a 5 star hotel.

This place was amazing. The La Grande is an add-on to the Sutton Palace. Our room was huge. It had a full kitchen and living room, but for just the two of us, it was more space than we could use. The pool/hot tub area was not that great. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud and kept me from getting a good night's sleep. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel for the cleanliness and super helpful staff, especially the valet guys.

It was around midnight when I arrived at the hotel. As soon as I walked into the hotel lobby, a friendly young man greeted me and processed my check-in. I was given a "one bedroom apartment"

We stayed for eight nights with a six month and a five year old. The king suite has all the essential amenities for families with young children, a fridge, a microwave. However, the decoration and the furniture of the room were old style and very old. We were moved to a 18th floor room with nice view on our third night. The service provided by the staff was wonderful.

Location of hotel is very good to get everywhere in Vancouver. Full kitchen is wonderful when travelling with family. Bathrooms could use a bit of updating, but otherwise very nice place to stay.

One of the best hotels. Rooms were nice and clean with a beautiful view of the downtown. A little on the expensive side, but, worth it.
