PROs: nice quiet location, private but not far from town, firepit/wood, sturdy secure entry door, covered porch and tin roof when it rains, cute furnishings, good air conditioning, comfy mattress, basic wifi, all the basics like fridge, freezer, kitchen, clean bathroom and good water pressure.
CONs: No scenic view from the cabin, but plenty of surrounding trees. No dvd player and unbearably slow internet so watching a show, movie, or youtube video- even with low resolution, means it pauses for at least 30-45 seconds every 2-3 minutes (arrgh! - not exaggerating), and I had to get my own batteries for the remote because the ones in it were dead when i arrived. Shower stall is small, but clean and manageable, just mind your toes around the broken drain grate. Flies & gnats are relentless if you're trying to sit outdoors in the late afternoon / early evening. A gap around screen door handle lets bugs in if you don't shut the main door. Had to hunt around for pillows - found them in trash bag hanging in the closet. Recent Youtube search history was "80s Music Sex Mix" so we slept on top of the bedspread with sheets and blankets we brought (just in case) and used our own pillow cases.
Summary:
I'd say it's an OK spot, pretty good. Better than an average hotel room, but with room for improvement too.
The Manager answered the phone right away and was nice when I called to check-in before entering the property.
I'd recommend this location to any person or couple who'd like a quiet private rustic and humble place to stay, and who plans to spend most of the time outdoors exploring and adventuring, with a decent place to come "home" to... But I'd recommend bringing your own blankets, sheets and pillowcases - and maybe your own DVD player, HDMI cable, and movies.
