The cafe that sold breakfast ran out of healthy options each morning (yogurt parfait cup/ overnight oats & quinoa $8 each) They had other plates, egg with meat, etc that looked nice fwiw. Cute gift shop in the cafe. Fashionable hotel with no real 'front desk' just a checkin counter, but volunteers were staffing a St. Louis info table in the lobby while we were there- very friendly. The bar/tapas restaurant across the lobby was fun, $$, and kitchen closed at 10 or so when our events got out so I didn't get to try it. LOVED the historic building, originally a YMCA, the handsome billiards room and the terrific tiled pool with vaulted ceiling- they don't make them like that anymore. Steam room, sauna, showers were great- bring a room towel in case the spa runs short! Open til 10:30p or 11p fyi. Art Museum on the 2nd floor is free to visitors, and had some challenging, gorgeous, funny, and thought-provoking art. Historic Campbell Mansion next door was a neat contrast and a quick peek into the high Victorian era. Glad I went, would stay again

On check in, the staff only found one of the two rooms I reserved, but they were able to replicate my reservation and get us a second room. I’m wish they can look it up with Expedia reservation number or something instead of last names only. I don’t know why they only found one room with my last name. Later the staff said there was another room was reserved in my husbands name - but the Expedia confirmation I got only had my name and said 2 rooms 1 night. Spacious room w comfy beds, clean and well laid out. The bathroom shampoo and body wash was empty but they came to refill it right away when we called about it. Breakfast didn't have whole lot of choices (eg no pancakes, no plain French toast or plain eggs, scrambled eggs had lots of pepper so was a bit too spicy). Valet parking was helpful but the charges were confusing. Location is combinient but similar to most downtown STL choices the neighborhood isn’t very friendly.

The hotel was beautiful and I enjoyed my stay in the luxury king suite. For such a beautiful hotel that had a luxury feel, the service was not quite up to par to other hotels I have stayed at the same level as this one. I was disappointed that room service was available only during dinner hours. And trays of food were left in the hallways all night, I don’t think anyone checked on a regular basis. There was also a false fire alarm at 7:30am one of the days but instead of making an announcement to the entire hotel I had to go all the way down 9 flights of stairs to find out it was nothing. I had to search online for any information on hours for restaurants, housekeeping, menus, and hotel policies because there was not a hotel guide in my suite. Overall, my stay was good, but all responsibility for finding policies on using any amenities is placed on the guest, which takes away from the luxury feel.

The entire hotel was fantastic. Beautifully decorated, so much to see. The art gallery was fantastic, the servers at the bar were friendly and phenomenal and just made for a great evening. The food was fantastic. Every inch of the building was well styled and the room was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend.

Hotel was very cool, certainly niche. Service was not the best. There was a language barrier between us and the receptionist. Definitely scour the area before arrival to find parking, otherwise you'll have to pay to park. the restaurants inside are really great, food and drinks are highly recommended. Atmosphere is a 10/10. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE. We will be back.
