Charming, comfortable, very friendly staff. Excellent location in the heart of old town, but at the end of the main terrace that is away from traffic and night life, so it’s very quiet. Loved having my room made up and getting treats in the fridge every day (bring Canadian or US cash for tips). The hotel sells bus passes and local canned beer, and can connect you with their shuttle. Super easy to walk to all of the main attractions, and many have accessible ramps. Endless nearby options for shopping, dining, scenery. Avoid the public buses during rush hours. Tips: Parliament is free to tour, but reserve in advance. Also reserve ahead for other tours because they tend to fill up. While not free with reservation fee and generous tip, I much enjoyed https://www.afreetourofquebec.com/. The Parks Canada app can help with the tour below the Terrace and other attractions further away. A few blocks away is a little grocery store called "Epicerie Richard”. Further down, “Le Don” has must-do, affordable, rotating daily lunch specials. It’s a vegan restaurant, but anyone who enjoys fresh, quality food with real vegetables would love it - they make even Impossible burgers taste impossibly fabulous. In old town most business with greet with “bonjour/hello” to indicate that you can respond in French or English. Outside of the walled city it’s hit or miss, with some irritated by English, so always at least approach with “bonjour” and be humble if not able to communicate in French.

Perfect getaway in Vieux-Québec

Hotel Terrasse Dufferin—the perfect location to enjoy Vieux-Québec, with a wonderful view of the St Lawrence River & easy access to the Terrasse Dufferin, a lovely boardwalk promenade. Many historical sites nearby such as the Chateau Frontenac & shops & restaurants further down on charming streets—like being in old world Europe. This hotel exudes lots of charm & tho it’s an older historic establishment it’s well maintained & clean. A basket of fresh apples in the lobby was there for the picking! Our host, Zineb, warmly welcomed us at check-in explaining in great detail everything we needed to know during our stay. She gave us a list of her personal restaurant recommendations from which we enjoyed several of her picks like Le Lapin Sauté & Au Petit Coin Bretonne. We parked our car for a small fee next to the hotel, with in-&-out privileges, a definite plus. Our room was spacious, bright, well maintained & clean & faced the river, a great way to greet the day. The room which was definitely updated since its older days, includes a fridge, a coffee maker & a tin basket of welcome treats for breakfast & snacks. A water dispenser in the hall landing encourages us to bring our bottles to refill as the hotel wants to minimize plastic waste—kudos to them. A kitchen on the lower level is available for guests’ use. Our bathroom (great water pressure!) was more than adequate tho a bit narrow—could be tight for some. Zineb & Amelie were fantastic & this hotel is the perfect getaway.

Location! Location! Location! If you want to stay in the heart of Old Quebec, be able to walk pretty much anywhere, and don’t want to pay a fortune, this is the hotel for you. It is right above the banks of the St. Lawrence river along the boardwalk. The room was clean and had everything we needed. They provided snacks and juice in the mini fridge free of charge. The room is old, but in a classic, antique way and we appreciated the charm. The shower was inconsistent in its temperature but we managed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!

Overall a great experience. The front line staff and the owner of the business Camille are very friendly. They allow us to check in early, parking is very convenient and affordable. We had a great river view and right beside Frontenac Hotel. If you don't mind the steps, third floor was a great room, we had two double bed size bed (very comfortable).

Close to so many attractions in Quebec. The staff are super friendly and accessible. The room i was in was super charming and had everything i needed for a few days, dryer, kettle, coffee, ironing, towels. Theres a nice common area with a microwave, toaster, plates and cutlery. Just perfect

You could not find a better location or more attentive service anywhere in Quebec City. The hotel is charming. I would not want to stay in a modern hotel here. We got the “vibe” of Quebec City as soon as we arrived at the hotel. We had an early flight in and our room was ready for us which was lovely. Our room was on the second floor with a view out over the river. It was warm enough, perfectly clean, the beds were comfortable and the hot water was plentiful with great pressure. The room was large enough with a couple of easy chairs. The snack basket, coffee machine, fridge, kettle and tea bags were really welcome. But what really sets the hotel apart is the wonderful staff. Amalie, Shelby and Veronica (I hope that’s right) were welcoming, accommodating, friendly and helpful. From helping take luggage upstairs, to recommending restaurants, to helping my friend who was not feeling well, to ordering us an early taxi, they could not have done more to help us. Our visit was outstanding. We love your city and we love your hotel.

The front desk staff here are incredibly friendly, which really adds to the overall experience. It's important to keep in mind that this isn’t a luxury hotel, but rather a charming family-run establishment that has been welcoming guests for 180 years. The building is old, and some of the rooms, including ours, are on the smaller side. However, we found them to be very clean and conveniently located. It's truly a wonderful spot in the city, right next to all the best attractions. We had such a lovely time and can’t wait to come back!

I recently stayed at this charming little hotel that truly exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was quaint and quiet, offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The hotel was impeccably clean, and you could tell a lot of care went into maintaining the space. It had such a cute, cozy vibe that made me feel right at home. The location was fantastic, with everything I wanted to see just a short walk away. Whether it was a great café, local shops, or scenic spots, it was all within easy reach. What really stood out was the staff. She were incredibly knowledgeable and gave great recommendations for things to do in the area. She made sure I had everything I needed and helped me make the most of my stay. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in a perfect location.
