The property is pretty nice but not very big. Our room was modern and clean but it didn't have any alcohol except beer in the fridge which was not working (everything was warm). The concierge service was helpful to manage our reservations at restaurants and spa, Marissa helped us finding lost items, she sent us the info about their entertainment program, etc. The gym looked nice, they offer group classes too which seemed to be fun. The spa was nice too but their services are definitely overpriced ($250 for a basic massage). I didn't really enjoy any restaurant, the food was just OK but we heard that it was much better when the resort was open. The Market was open only for breakfast. If you didn't make a reservation at a restaurant the only option is room service with very limited options. They have a movie theatre which is mostly used by their kids club at 4pm every day. The kids club looked good but the kids didn't really liked their activities. I was also disappointed that shows were always outside. It's very humid there, we were sweating a lot. it was absolutely impossible to keep my hair look nice, every evening it was back to "its fabric settings", lol. I loved the beach, no big waves, we all enjoyed it. The Monkey Bar is beautiful but the bartendres were not friendly at all (except Hector), it made us feel uncomfortable. We liked their sports bar (Hudson Tavern), they have a DJ almost every evening which was nice. Our stay was just OK but I don't think we come back.

If you’re after a perfect beach, it won’t meet your expectations, the sand is rocky, the shoreline doesn’t stretch too far, and seaweed can be an issue. But if the beach isn’t your top priority and you’re looking for a fantastic atmosphere, outstanding food, and genuinely great service, SLS Playa Mujeres delivers in spades. For everything beyond the waterline, this place is amazing.

Not worth the money

The dining options available for families traveling together were notably limited. Failure to secure reservations for the on-site restaurant in advance resulted in uncertainty regarding table availability, which is a critical aspect that is not sufficiently communicated to guests. In an all-inclusive establishment, it is reasonable to anticipate dining options that do not necessitate prior reservations. Moreover, the service at the bars was significantly slower than expected. Upon arrival, I found that my accommodation contained personal items belonging to a previous guest, suggesting that the cleaning procedures employed were inadequate. Additionally, the range of available activities was somewhat deficient in variety. However, for guests with an interest in fitness, there were an array of facilities and daily classes offered. It is also worth noting that there were additional fees imposed; for instance, one restaurant informed us that, in order to be seated together due to their inability to accommodate our party, we could utilize a private room contingent upon purchasing a bottle of wine costing one thousand dollars. Furthermore, we were charged ten dollars per person for an experience labeled as "Surf and Turf," which was presented to us as a premier setting featuring lobster and steak, yet it ultimately turned out to be a buffet setup on the beach, falling short of expectations for the additional cost.

Overall, the property is beautiful, the staff was excellent, and the beds were very comfortable. However, the rating I gave reflects a few issues we experienced during our stay. We had two disappointing encounters—one at Caracol and another at the Union Steakhouse. Additionally, we received a mediocre room service meal. One of the biggest letdowns was the lack of entertainment. We were told that the resort doesn’t post a daily schedule of events, and at the adult pool, there were no activities at all aside from a DJ Thursday through Sunday. Unfortunately, the DJ played the same repetitive EDM/monastery-style music—just louder than the already-present resort speakers—without much variety or energy. While the pool itself was spacious and well-maintained, it often felt empty and lacked any real atmosphere or engagement to keep guests entertained. That said, the poolside staff more than made up for it. Special shoutout to Justin and J Lo—both went above and beyond. J Lo always remembered my drink order and had it ready the moment we arrived, and Justin brought the fun with his friendly energy and playful interactions with guests. They truly made the poolside experience memorable.

We just returned from our visit to SLS Playa Majures. First off. The staff was INCREDIBLE! We wanted for nothing, and everyone was extremely helpful and willing to go above and beyond. Our wait staff for breakfast, lunch, and dinner were on point! There are several great dining options. The Market (breakfast) had great buffet options. Lunch options could be found around the resort, but we typically grabbed a quick bite and drinks from the Bungalow. You will need to make dinner reservations for the week upon arrival. We had dinner set at 6pm each evening at the various restaurants. We had a family of 4 (daughter 15 and son 18) with my son's best friend attending with us. We were a little bummed to find out that the adult pool was in an area by itself. Typically, we have found at several all-inclusive resorts that one large pool is separated by a swim up bar with adults on one side and families on the other. This did make things a little more difficult for us to hang as a family, due to our son and his friend wanting to spend time with an older crowd, versus the family side of the resort. Also, although there is a wait staff constantly circling each pool, there is not a swim up bar in the family pool. This is the only downside we experienced with the resort. Outside of this, we had a very enjoyable vacation. I also can't express how much the staff made this trip memorable!

Absolutely amazing stay at SLS! Our king ocean view was perfect! The bed was so comfortable! The restaurant choices and food was authentic and fresh along with superb waitstaff. We traveled without kids so having the adult only pool was key and so much fun! We would definitely recommend and return in the future!

Everything was beautiful. There are a couple of things that could be improved, like the showers not having glass doors and water splashed all over the bathrooms and all over the clothes since the closet is located in the bathroom area . But overall, beautiful resort, lots of activities for kids. Love that you can leave them at the daycare and they actually watch them and entertain them by going to cinema for movies and taking them to the splash zone. Restaurants were good as well - staff super friendly and accommodating ( except the check in crew -girls at the front desk could be a bit more nicer in the way they respond)
