Over 140 years ago when this home was built, Portland was a quaint logging town and river trade gateway. The mode of transportation was horse and buggy. Boy, a lot has changed since then! Portland (or Portlandia) is now known for it`s `weirdness` holding true to the word with its quirky skilled-craftsman type of inhabitants.
We are located in the popular and safe Buckman neighborhood, which includes the southern border of the Hawthorn district. Trendy and hip, and walking distance to most everything including parks.
The central east side of Portland is the heart of this lovely city. There are a great few vegan boutique grocers, micro-breweries, entertainment venues, juice bars, parks, community gardens, rock gyms and yoga studios. There are so many amazing restaurants to experience close by you won`t miss the kitchen one bit.
Portland is known for it`s lush outdoor refuges. Laurelhurst Park is among the most beautiful in the city (20 blocks away) Colonel Summers Park and community garden are less than 10 blocks away. Don`t forget Mt. Tabor Park, just up Hawthorne, for beautiful views of the city!
Portland culture can be explored within the neighborhood at venues such as -
*The Bossanova Ballroom
*Doug Fir Lounge
*Burnside Brewery
*Revolution Hall
*White Owl Social Club
*Helium Comedy Club
*The Goodfoot
* And so many more!
Our central location makes it the perfect stepping off point for all things Portland. There is no need to bring a car because getting around is so very simple!
Our location is a paradise for walkers and bikers!

Absolutely blown away by this one-of-a-kind rental we found in Portland, Oregon!
From the moment we stepped inside, it was like walking into an artful time capsule — every room tells a story, and every corner is full of charm, character, and quirky personality. The place is seriously funky in the best way — think bold colors, vintage decor, eclectic art, and cozy, lived-in vibes.Giant mirrors, sculptural furniture, and velvet seating made the living rooms feel plush and inviting. The walls are rich with deep reds, mustard tones, and unexpected treasures like antique busts, curio shelves, and a “Sea Breeze” vintage bar nook that made us feel like we were in a Wes Anderson film. There’s even a reading nook with wild books, cool artifacts, and phrenology heads.Natural light pours in through the bay windows, perfect for morning coffee or a cozy evening wind-down.Whether you’re into design, history, or just want a super memorable place to stay — this house delivers. Can’t recommend it enough if you’re visiting Portland and want something truly special. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Portland in One House
Super conveniently located in a great neighborhood and even though we might've spent more time on the front porch than inside, it proved to be the PERFECT spot for our group of collaborators to share housing while in town for a conference we were presenting at. Thank you!

Family Thanksgiving
This house was perfect for out-of-town family to be close to Portland family members. With five bedrooms, everyone was comfortable. The kitchen was well-appointed with good appliances - fridge, oven & dishwasher. There was plenty of room for all of us to eat together in the dining room. The house stayed comfortable warm, but not too warm. It was nice to have the fenced back yard which was safe for our dog to be with us. The neighborhood was nice, lots of good walks, dog park very close and it was quiet. Street parking was easy. An all-round excellent experience.

Portland hot weekend
While the house is beautiful, we did get to stay there during a hot weekend and the air conditioner couldn't quite keep up with the heat. We also had an older parent with us who had a difficult time getting in and out of the claw foot bathtubs. Nice kitchen, comfy beds and parking on site was appreciated!

Super convenient location near downtown
This was a perfect place for our business stay in Portland. Walk to many bars and restaurants, less than 10 minutes by car to the convention center and upscale restaurants, about 20 minutes to the airport.
Host was super responsive and other than our welcome message, only communicated when we reached out first.
We had 4 travelers, each having their own bedroom. Lots of room to spread out - 2 large sitting areas, dining room, nice outdoor areas. Very interesting and eclectic decor in this late 19th century home. Definitely would book again!
