We couldn’t have loved the setting more! The proximity to the ocean and listening to the waves crashing each day and night was awesome! The home was very, very clean. The check in and check out Instructions were very easy and clear. There are a couple little things that weren’t working properly. My guess is no one ever told the property manager. My husband is a very enthused handyman. He was happy to address a couple of things himself. When we did need to speak to the property manager, they were incredibly responsive and prompt. What a beautiful home!

Beautiful property with stunning view of the beach - the pool is a really nice bonus as you can lounge by the pool and watch the sun set. Highly recommend!

It was fantastic. The weather was great, the water was wonderful and we enjoyed it all. The house was beautiful and the views from the decks were wonderful. Would definitely recommend this VBRO and Wood stay here again. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

The perfect beach getaway

Amazing balcony views of the beach. This house is right on the white sand beach and well worth the cost. Perfect for family vacation. Easy parking and close to mexico beach restaurants.

Perfect Beach Side Getaway

We enjoyed this gorgeous beach side getaway with all our heart. It was our first visit to the area and this home was everything we could dream of. Gorgeous sunsets from any one of the porches, beautiful decor and bright rooms welcoming you all day long. The house was clean and beds extremely comfortable. The covered private pool was perfect for waiting out the cloudbursts. We had a problem with the pool and all I had to do was send a text and we were contacted and an agent was sent to remedy promptly. We look forward to staying here again!

The house was nice there were a few minor things that need tended to which I emailed the manager about when they emailed asking me for those things. My mom has mobility issues so the elevator was amazing. The view from the house is breathtaking and access to the beach couldn’t be easier. So nice and quiet in that area. We loved it. Checkin took awhile due to the key code battery being out. We had a great week. The love bugs were awful that week but they have zero control over that.

Spur of the moment getaway

A beautiful home in the perfect location. The home was very comfy and had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The furnishings and finishes were well thought out and spot on for a beach home. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a place in Port St Joe.

NASTY: Home and owners of Sunshine Vacation Rentals

We had a terrible experience with Sunshine Vacation Rentals. Their website promised a heated pool, safe furnishings, and clean, updated accommodations — but what we got was the opposite. The pool heater didn't work, the balcony furniture was broken (nearly causing me to fall over a railing the owner admitted needed repair), and the property was filthy, with cockroaches, mildew on the air ducts, and poor housekeeping throughout. When I pressed for a refund, the owner stopped communicating, defended these misrepresentations instead of addressing them, and even threatened legal action if I posted an honest review. Bottom line: unsafe, unsanitary, and dishonest. Rent anywhere else.

Gorgeous home and incredible stay

This home is absolutely gorgeous!! It was perfect for our family of 7. My husband and I had our own level on the top floor, which was so nice. On the 3rd level, the boys stayed in the room with the bunk beds, and the girls stayed in the other room. All of the beds were so comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with all of the pots, pans, and kitchen utensils anyone could possibly need. I note that the kitchen does not have any spices, so you will need to bring your own if you plan to cook!Being right on the beach was absolutely amazing. When we were done with the beach, the kids would play in the pool. It is small, but perfect for getting out of the sun and still being in water. There is also a Memorial right across the street that has a lovely park and pickleball court. We all had so much fun playing pickleball together and it was so convenient to just walk across the street!The home also provides for a 250 credit to VayKLife, so with that credit we rented a paddle board and an umbrella. The house already had an umbrella and beach chairs, so we were set! You should note that the credit does not apply for the delivery, so you will need to pay for that out of pocket. Still, it is an incredible deal and our family enjoyed the paddleboard every single day, so it was such a nice "extra"! If we ever visit Port Saint Joe again, we will look to see if Oak Rest Barn is available!! As a final note, we did not have any of the insect issues that the previous reviewer had!!

Roach problem

The house is beautiful, but that's where the good part ends. We were so disappointed with the amount of roaches we saw. We saw the first one on the kitchen counter about half an hour after checking in. Thought well it's ok, it happens, then it was constant after that. My husband bought non toxic bug spray and we sprayed around the base of the kitchen. It barely helped. Called sunshine vacation and they asked if it was ok to have pest control come out, we agreed because what else could we do?? We would have left but we had family flying in from SD, meeting us for a family trip, so that wasn't an option, and sunshine told me they had no other rentals available for us to change to. I get this is the south, bugs happen, but we saw so many. My daughter went to the kitchen around 130AM for water and took 16 pics in different places of roaches. 16!!! Pics were sent to sunshine rentals. There is definitely an infestation. They were mainly on the kitchen/living room level, we saw about 4-5 on the 3rd level and none on the 4th. The house was beautiful and it was right on the beach so all would have been perfect if it weren't for the roaches. We spent as much time out of the house as possible. We didn't let my grandbaby crawl on the floor. We zipped up our bags after EVERY use and we shook everything out to be sure we didn't bring any home. We also kept all food in the fridge, or in a zipped bag. It's tedious to have to do all of that and paying as much as we did for this house, shouldn't have had to deal with any of it. They refunded just a fraction of what they should have. I've lived in the south my whole life, roaches are part of the south, but I've never had this kind of problem with them. The house should be bombed w a fogger or another drastic measure taken. After pest control came, we did see a lot of dead ones but some still alive. When you see roaches constantly and during the day, there's a problem. I usually don't do bad reviews, but this one was so very disappointing. The whole time we kept looking around, very uneasy, and that doesn't make for a relaxing vacation. :-/
