Only concerns we had (but did not affect our stay): 1) When we got breakfast with 5 ppl vs 4 ppl, one person’s meal was always forgotten and they had to wait an extra 10-15 min to get their food; 2) My family prefers breakfast buffets, but I loved their breakfast menu

Hands down a great choice if you prefer a relaxing, quiet stay. Staff very friendly and reliable, never a hesitation w every request or inquiry. Peter and Missy(?) from the restaurant side were excellent; Jayne from front desk was knowledgeable and attentive. Hotel also allows use of amenities at Oceanica, a sister hotel. Use Xpedia for experiences/adventures though to save.

Our family of grandparents, parents and grandchildren stayed for 4 nights at North Zen Villas in December 2024. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the grounds are attractive, especially the boardwalk through the mangroves, and the food at the restaurant was good. The staff were uniformly cheerful and helpful.

North Zen Hotel

We love the rooms and the hotel itself with all the amenities around like the Mangroove, the big nice pool and the restaurant. Services are great, food is not the best for me because mostly are healthy, but for all, it was great!!! Crews were so courteous and they cleaned our room every day. Rooms were clean and smells great. I love this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the resort. The facilities are fantastic and the staff offered excellent service! It’s a bit away from Alona but that is what we wanted. Perfect if you prefer quiet. Would be back for sure.

Beautiful, clean, relaxing, well-designed resort. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was great to have on-site, however, the service was very slow. Even when food was preordered for a certain time, we still had to wait for it for about 45 minutes.

Resort with potential but significant let downs.

Resort with a lot of potential but let down by demotivated and untrained staff. While I am not a stiff person, I do not appreciate if staff members greet me with 'hey wassup'. That is just wrong. In addition, the staff has been trained to provide preferential treatment to external guest (paying through a day pass) versus actually staying guest. In one incident, i was asked to leave the restaurant since they expected a group of Koreans to dine in and they prefer to stay among them. So, I had to no choice but to take a tuktuk and eat outside after a 15 min ride. This was pretty ridiculous and after bringing this up to the manager, she simple asked me what she should do now... well, nothing as too late at that point. Overall, we would definitely not stay there again as the shortcomings are just larger than the benefits. For the price they charge, there is a bunch of better options out there in Bohol.
