Disliked: Cleanliness
The positives: awesome location & front porch area. However the house needs work. Rusty sharp nails protruding from the main door. Furnishings are not good—Ill fitting slipcovers on couches are not expected at this price point. The house needs updating!! Carpets dirty, upstairs walls dirty. Just overall feeling of not being kept up. We come to this area every year & this house was by far our biggest disappointment. Would not recommend.

Beach baby
We needed a week away from everything on the beach and this house was perfect. Our favorite part was the front porch. If we weren't on the beach then we we're on the porch. The only downside was only one tv worked and some had wires that weren't even hooked up. Maintenance was supposed to come on Sunday to fix the problem but never showed up. We loved the neighbors/ owners of the house next to us and the locals on the beach were all super friendly. First time in Oak Island and we loved it.

Pretty good family beach vacation
Overall, this was a good house to stay in for a beach vacation. There was plenty of space and the house was right on the water. We would recommend the house for others looking for a place to stay.
Areas of improvement include the beach access, cleanliness & property management. The steps leading to the beach had been cleared away by a hurricane in the weeks leading up to our vacation. It looks like maintenance laid some wood down on the dunes to make access to the beach easier but we ended up having to dig steps and stabilize the wood ourselves because my mom (who has two knee replacements) slipped on an unstable piece of wood. Not ideal.
There were coozie's and trash behind dressers that the cleaning crew should have gotten, but the visible areas were really clean.
The upstairs AC unit went out the second night we were there. Property management asked a local HVAC vendor to come address it. The HVAC vendor called us to cancell 4 minutues before they were scheduled to close. Classic... The property management team got a window unit AC to us but only had one unit to share between two families so one family slept hot that night. Not sure why they didn't have more units on hand.
Overall, it was a good experience but would have been exceptional if the above had been focused on more intentionally
