The house was clean but run down and in need of upgrades or repair, for example the shower handle continuously falls off because it's missing a screw to keep the handle secured to the base. The location was easy access to Merritt Parkway, New Haven and West Haven, but the neighborhood is not the best. There was police presence in the neighborhood which was good because we saw quite a bit of questionable activity. The AC in the master was great to have and worked great the one night we needed to use it. Be prepared to wake up early as many neighbors have roosters/chickens. We were offered eggs from one neighbor who was kind to us for the entirety of our stay. The kitchen had minimal supplies, enough to get through a weekend. However, for our extended stay we had to purchase a cookie sheet, larger fry pan and salad bowl set to make it usable. We left those behind so hopefully others can use. There was a good supply of paper products and laundry supplies for our extended stay. The laundry was full size and worked great. Please note you should bring bottled water to cook with. Twice the water unexpectedly stopped to the house and was followed by wooshing through the pipes of brown water that needed to run through the system. We researched and this is more of a city issue rather than a specific house issue but better to know to bring water than be surprised. Overall for the price we paid, we got what we paid for and recognize it was not meant to be a luxury rental.
