I had booked Premium King rooms for our stay as this was for a special celebration. On arrival it took over 40 minutes to check in. Only one of the two rooms booked was ready, and we were told that if we went to the available room someone would inform us when the other was available. I have stayed in hotels before when rooms weren't ready and was offered refreshments whilst I waited, this option wasn't offered. My son complained and we were given a credit to the room to use during our stay.
We were taken to our rooms, in a different building to check in, in the rain, though to be fair the young lady who accompanied us did ask if we minded walking through the smoking area, which was the fastest route.
On our second evening, and after my investiture at St James's Palace and a meal, I brought guests back to the hotel rather than trying to find a bar elsewhere. There was only one space for 5 people in the bar, in a booth at the end of 3 by the door. Space between the bench seats and the table was small to say the least, and not comfortable. Coats had to be placed on the back of the bench seats which meant even less available room. A visit to the restrooms was again outside and through the smoking area in the rain!
I retired to my hotel room to watch TV, which, unlike my son's bigger room, was on the left hand wall and uncomfortable to watch, so I gave in and turned off.
Would I stay again no. Would I recommend no. Was it value for money definitely not.
