Not so perfect place in the perfect location.
We really wanted to love this stay 100%. The location is great, the neighborhood beautiful. Short walk up the hill to great shopping, restaurants and parks. Great apartment set up with two bedrooms at opposite ends. Sadly the apartment was not fully cleaned before our arrival. There were fingerprints and smudges on cabinets, mirrors, windows, shower door. Kitchen floor was dirty with food stuck to it, hair on the bathroom wall, floors not cleaned. The a/c was not a proper a/c. More like a fan blowing warm air into a hot and stuffy apartment. Windows couldn’t be left open bc there were no screens and we got bugs just from slipping out quickly to the terrace. It was 68 degrees outside but so hot in the apartment at night. Can’t imagine what it will be like in July and August. We contacted Altido shortly after our arrival and the young woman I spoke with was pleasant and asked me to send pictures and she would call housekeeping right away. We never heard back from them. We were so excited to be on our first trip since Covid hit so we cleaned it ourselves with alcohol wipes we had. There are bare bones supplies. No napkins or paper towels, just one dish towel. We also ran out of toilet paper. A Nespresso maker with no pods. The keys to the apartment were difficult to maneuver with the front door to building and the apartment. We struggled every night in the dark to open the front door. We moved forward and decided to make the best and enjoy our stay. It wasn’t an inexpensive rate, so we expected at least a clean space. If you have expectations of a clean, cool place to retreat to after spending a day roaming Lisbon, you may want to reconsider this apartment. This could be a really great stay if more attention was paid or if management had just responded. Really a shame.
