Not the experience we hoped for We stayed one night at the Heron Inn and, unfortunately, will not be returning. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. The front desk person barely acknowledged us — simply pointed to our keys on the counter and said our room was up two flights. No greeting, no warmth, no effort to make guests feel welcome. We booked the so-called “Romantic Suite,” but it was anything but romantic. My partner kept hitting his head on the low, uneven ceiling, the jetted tub was underwhelming, and the bathroom had a musty odor. For the price, we were not impressed. Breakfast — one of the reasons we chose a bed and breakfast — was only served from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., which felt unreasonably short. It was the end of our trip, and we wanted to sleep in a bit, so we missed it entirely. The worst part of our stay came the next morning, when my partner took our dog for a walk and was confronted by the owner. He was required to pay an unexpected $50 pet fee on the spot and had to provide his credit card information — even though I had made the reservation and should have been contacted directly. The owner then lectured him about booking through Expedia instead of directly with the inn, which was uncalled for and highly unprofessional. We only stayed here because I had an Expedia credit that reduced the cost — otherwise, it’s overpriced for what it offers. We will not stay there again.

We liked that the owner was there at the property. Serving Breakfast, cleaning room etc. Very friendly and very relaxing..great massage as well. Were coming back. Besy B&B we stayed at in the last 3 years..highly recommend this location.

The breakfast was not memorable as I think a B&B breakfast should be. Just very plain fare of scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. And it had apparently been prepared ahead of time, as we came in toward the end of the breakfast period. Other patrons complained that the coffee that was in the self-serve pot was cold.

An older quaint and elegant small hotel with lovely clean rooms. Spa experience was fantastic and the staff was very welcoming and professional! The hotel is walking distance to town and dining. Breakfast was standard but good with exceptional service. Part of the charm is the fact the rooms are old… but they are very clean and comfortable. The parking is tight, especially with larger vehicles. We will plan to go there again!
