Positives: VERY close to Yosemite - it’s one of the closest hotels to the park (10 miles away) if you don’t camp or stay in Yosemite valley Somewhat clean - my room was clean, but the bathroom had flies coming out of the sink Parking - lots of parking available Negatives: Price - they charge very high rates for what is a two star hotel. They gouge because of proximity to the park No real food options - you have to drive many miles to get food (or bring from the park). There is a small minimart on site for some basics. They is also a restaurant, but it also charges ridiculous prices due to lack of competition. Terrible internet - this is my biggest criticism. Absolutely ridiculous for a hotel in 2025. The lady said that it’s not their fault. There are simply too many guests using bandwidth. Well, get more bandwidth!! Stop being so cheap. With your exorbitant rates, you can afford to buy better service. Basically, expect no internet or limited internet from 5-6pm onwards until the next morning (I left every day super early). On weekends when it’s more crowded, forget about it. Just awful.

National park accommodations are not known for being “updated” so I didn’t expect that but overall the room looked fine. I appreciated the hot shower with good water pressure and comfortable bedding, as well as the continental (convenience) breakfast. Although there was no elevator I so appreciated the ramp! We also enjoyed relaxing and reading in the chairs placed by the river. They were sticklers about the 4pm check in. I mean to the minute…which is a little ridiculous when you are out in the middle of nowhere.

Excellent location on the roaring Rapids River. Great friendly staff, fantastic reasonably priced Café, delicious pulled pork with a bottle of wine on the river. Best to drive here in a sports type car, preferably convertible. We had a wonderful stay!!! Thank you very much!!!

The hotel was as expected, a little outdated but still great option if staying in the park. Beautiful surrounding, friendly staff. Would be nice to have mini fridges in the room or at least an ice machine somewhere in the hotel. Gift shop has everything you might need including frozen food and microwave. Would definitely stay again.

This is a National Park Lodge. It is very basic but the location is perfect if you wish to enjoy the park and get an early start on some hiking. The room was basic but nice and clean, staff was friendly and food was decent.

The location along the river was beautiful and quiet. Wish the park service could spruce up the lodge and rooms some. These are not cheap rooms but looked like a tired motel. But location is splendid to enjoy the much quieter Kings Canyon NP.

Great location, Disappointing quality

The location of the property is great but everything else was rather disappointing. The washrooms were not clean, the kitchen was there but nothing was functioning properly. Frying pas were the worst kind, everything got stuck to the bottom even with lots of oil and low heat. Towels were yellow, and carpets felt stickly. There were no screens at balcony doors, either we had to live with bugs or not able to circulate air. I usually never complain about any property, but compared to the price of staying the service and facility is lacking.

We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Grove. The river just outside the lodge was amazing. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms could use updating but the staff and the view were excellent. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

Older building, shower was tiny, location on river was beautiful. Restaurant served good food but limited choices. Convenience store was well stocked for a remote location. Friendly staff.

Hotel very dated. Bare bones. Would have been nice to have a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Breakfast was bare bones. For the price (due to location) I would expect better. Only had cereal, mini muffins, small yogurts, no bagles, no toast. Juice in small plastic containers. Snack bar food was good, but overpriced. Ok hotel for amenities, excellent for location.

The property was great for what it is, a big step above camping. The place was clean and the room was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a market with a good variety of food and gift items and camping items. There was a small take out restaurant with decent food. The roaring river by the hotel was spectacular and we enjoyed relaxing by ut daily!
