The little things make a difference. The pool hours are from 8am to 10pm. We asked if we could use the pool at 7am to workout since we have to leave by 7:50. The answer was “No, it’s on a timer, there is no way to over ride it. Your key card doesn’t allow you in until 8.” So I asked what happens if you have to get in there for whatever reason. The manage processes to tell me that, “Well his lets him in.” So why not let me in since his card could, but no. He had to check with someone off site to try to over ride it for the next day. When we came back to the hotel at 10:45pm that night I asked if there had been a decision if the pool was going to be open the next morning early. The worker looked at the managers notes and said “No sorry it can’t be opened early because insurance only covers the pool from 8am to 10pm.” Interesting I thought seems like a very rigid policy from the insurance specially since I’ve never run into that problem even at the hotel I had stayed 2 nights prior it hadn’t been an issue. They then proceeded to say, “We can keeping it open until 11 tonight if you’d like.” What happened to the insurance policy and what happened to can’t override? The rooms are ok. The window from the bathroom (jacuzzi) into the room is a little weird because it doesn’t allow for privacy while going to the bathroom. This wasn’t a big deal for me but if you are light sensitive sleeper room 407 is not for you. That room has 2 spot lights pointed at the window.

Excellent service. Entire place was spotless; cleanest hotel went ever stayed at. Right on Houghton Lake. Beds were very comfortable as well. Nice touch with outdoor patio overlooking Lake.

The hotel was nice, clean, and in a great location. When we arrived at our room on the 4th floor, everything was clean and well maintained. The only issue we experienced was a very strong, overwhelming smell of chlorine, which eventually gave me a headache. We later found out that our room was located directly above the pool. The pool area itself was nice and clean; however, the chlorine smell was very overpowering and burned our eyes. Aside from that, the hotel was comfortable and well kept. One suggestion would be to offer more activities for kids, such as an arcade or small game area, which would make it even more family-friendly. Overall, it is a really nice hotel and could be an excellent stay with a few small improvements.

Spacious room. Well made and comfortable beds. Wish Netflix was offered in the rooms (through the guests' subscription). And being the only hotel in town with EV charging would be a huge draw, too.
