For the price, this place is excellent! I didn’t give it an “excellent” rating because I’m not a fan of the type of heater (going on/off all night, though lots of hotel rooms have this same type of unit). Our unit had a particular odor, though not particularly offensive - just noticeable…All this said, I would definitely stay again for a quick over-nighter when in Helena.

Completely based on honest customers, we made it there just before check in. Cabin was small and quite cozy. If you like your space and are larger folk go for a bigger space. This suited our overnight stay. Will go with bit more space next time. Will def stay again. Clean, and just what you need. Fridge, micro, very small bathroom/shower. Sink is in main room. Nicely decorated as well. Bed was comfy enough

Our stay at Lamplighter Cabins & Suites was good, but a few changes could have made it great. We drove to Helena for a Christmas time visit with family. On the plus side, our cabin, although small, was clean, well provisioned, and private. They accommodated a late arrival (winter weather) gracefully. Location is a pleasant residential neighborhood, with lots of history. The property is unique and quirky, which we prefer to bland chain hotels. Overall, very good value. Negatives: (1) The hot water must have been piped in from distant hot springs, because it took a long time to go from icy to temperate, much less hot enough to shower or shave. Since the sink is in the foyer/sitting area and not the bathroom (w/ toilet and shower), running the tap isn’t the most convenient. (2) The heater warmed the room up quickly (much appreciated in Montana wintertime), but there wasn’t really a gradation between off and too hot if you want even heating, especially overnight. (3) While management was flexible about check-in, check-out policy isn’t guest friendly. There’s an iron clad 11:00 am check out time. We needed an extra hour and half due to snow and vehicle problems. It’s their prerogative to set the rules, but when the extra charge appeared on my credit card, I had to ask how it was calculated and the response implied they were doing us a favor not charging more. It’s also not conducive to repeat business when staff make snide California jokes when seeing their guest’s license plate.

The whole process was seamless! They have excellent communication and make check-in and out a breeze. Cabins are clean, well stocked, and beds are comfy. I will always book with Lamplighter any time we are in town.

Lamplighter cabin has everything you need. I was appreciative of the coffee in the room, small table I was able to do some work on, and comfortable bed. This was also a convenient option if you don’t want a hotel atmosphere where you can hear people and tvs next to you or on top of you. The bicycle decor was easy, fun, and well-thought. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely little property in a beautiful city/ region. WiFi was great for streaming all the movies/ sports/ shows I wanted. Hot water shower worked great in the morning. Overall very comfortable for spending an evening in before / after spelling the adjacent Rocky Mountains.

This is a no-frills property but it's clean and the bed is comfortable. They allow dogs. My cabin had all I needed because I had all my meals with family. The heating unit was efficient and easy to operate. Friendly staff were present and helpful.
