Staying in a log cabin was a unique treat, especially since Chula Vista is a very comfortable and well-appointed cabin. We sat up late in the living room, lingered over coffee in the morning, and enjoyed watching the deer watching us. The office to check in was easy to find on the main street through town, and folks were friendly and helpful.
Was it perfect? Nearly. A few more lights on the path would have given my wife some comfort when we came in after dark on Friday. And on a chilly, gray weekend it sure would have been nice to have the fireplace working, if just for ambiance (the furnace worked fine!). But we will certainly be looking at Chula Vista first when we come back to the Fredericksburg area.
