This was our second time staying at the Grand Canal. It was wonderful then, and it was wonderful again. Staff was super! Rooms were clean and had all the necessities needed for travel. We did stop at the bar and restaurant for drinks and some appetizers. Staff there was great also. Convenient to bus, or walking to sites. Definitely worthy when you are looking for a place in Dublin.

It was a nice hotel breakfast 15 euros a person. The only issue I had was the bath tub/ shower was extremely high off the ground very difficult to get in and out of. Knobs had no labels.

Great Location and Staff

A nice hotel with a great location and an excellent staff. The canal area it is in has many restaurants , including the one connected to the hotel which is quite good. It is a three minute walk to the DART station where you can easily get to fabulous locations like Bray and Dun Laoghaire quickly. The hotel is showing a bit of age and the beds were not super comfortable, but the staff and the breakfast made this a really nice stay!

The only thing that stood out about this property was the shower — great two-piece fixture with strong pressure and consistent temperature. Note well: parking is only free if you book direct. At check in they told me is was €20. At checkout they said, “oh and you get our discount for parking,” which was the exact opposite of true. I got the Expedia surcharge. The rooms are blah. The TV reception is poor, often getting blurry/grainy. There’s no AC / ventilation, and the windows have a small opening. In the heat of summer, it is hot and stuffy inside. The crowd is totally business travelers. If you’re coming to Dublin on holiday, spend a little more to book a comfortable spot with a better vibe.
