The park was so beautiful!! If it weren't for the surrounding beauty I would have rated lower, as there was a cockroach in the shower! The front desk staff tried to gas light me suggesting it was a beetle!?! Really?!? Otherwise the location was great, and May is a great time to visit.

If you are traveling with a pet this would probably be a good choice. However, we were not and found the room to need repairs, had lots of bugs, and the staff was unaccommodating. The general store across the road had a decent selection and we were able to utilize the charging there. The restaurant breakfast was good but dinner was not and the servers were not friendly. Overall every time we had to interact with anyone we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing them by being there. It wasn’t a welcoming experience but I feel like this particular park is a one and done for us so we survived it but would recommend staying elsewhere to friends and family.

We were able to charge our car in the general store parking lot across the road and we were able to get some nice souvenirs there. We added an extra night at the last minute rather than moving to a different hotel, thinking we’d make it easier on ourselves by not having to repack our luggage and move it in and out of the car except apparently I didn’t pay attention and one reservation was for a queen room, the other king. They could not let us stay in the same room and nowhere to store luggage. We had to keep our luggage in the car exploring the park until the evening. The second room was FULL of bugs. Huge cracks in the door, could hear all outside noise. Not what I’d expect for over $400 a night. Wouldn’t recommend and wish we’d just moved on to a different accommodation.

Perfect spot - location and lodging made for a great visit to Death Valley. Rooms were recently redone and modernized. Spacious for our family of 4. Pool was heated for us in December + hot showers adjacent for when you get out. Beds were comfortable. WiFi reliable. Check-in and out was easy. Parking right in front for sunrise getaways to see the sights. Convenience store with beer, wine, snacks across the street. Ordered pizzas from the restaurant which was always crowded and ate in our room. Would recommend and return this property in the future for location and value. Note that we booked in late July for a post Christmas 2025 trip. Another family had to camp across the street when they tried to book the hotel 2 months out.

The property is very quaint and charming, and while the room itself was minimal it was also clean, cozy and quiet. No docking regarding water shortages given the work going on in the park and the nature of the Death Valley area. Restaurant had only buffet service but this was also cozy and quiet with friendly staff like Elisa. But really Chris is one of the warmest and friendliest people I’ve met and really took my stay over the top with his willingness to offer fun suggestions and sightseeing/hiking scavenger hunts complete with printed maps and directions, plus making”Death Valley Explorer” pins, lending a pair of binoculars and even offering more stops and directions on the way to my next destination in 29 Palms. His wealth of love and knowledge for the area is palpable and truly winning. If you have any interest in national parks, night sky and stargazing, and Death Valley in particular and go into the park knowing what to expect you’ll really treasure your stay here.

What a great place to stay! The rooms are clean and simple. There is a very nice pool which is open until midnight. The general store here has lots of cool national park themed merchandise, grab and go food, including tasty pre-packaged ice cream bars, lots of drink varieties and even very friendly staff running the place. The saloon serves excellent food as does the adjacent restaurant. This location is very close to the sand dunes as well as Mosaic Canyon, so that is convenient. We highly recommend this location, even over Furnace Creek Ranch.

Rooms are so small...Smaller than what the PICs on the website portray it to be. HIGHLY CRAMPED UP ROOM. No place to even keep small portable luggage. No Coffee in room. Even the LOUNGE has no coffee except from 9pm-7am, when nobody even is going to drink coffee. How stupid ..Not a customer care attitude..! Ice machine didn't work. NO Jaccuzzi Tub like what the PIC showed. THE BEST PART WAS THE BREAKFAST SPREAD..! What an awesome variety. Excellent BF...!! Horrible, 2 thin pillows.. should have at least 4 pillows. The door has to be slammed to really close it and lock it..WAKING UP EVERYBODY next door...!
