Great Stay

Lots of character, quiet, under beautiful live oaks, manatees, dolphin, fish and all private.

A great Georgia experience. Super friendly care takers that leave you alone unless you need anything. Great mid location between Savannah to the north and St Mary’s to the south. Worth the stay.

Beautiful

The cabin was perfect and we had four people and a small dog! The view was beautiful and there was plenty of stuff to do on the property and nearby. Great restaurants in Darien and St. Simons. Great got short getaways or even a long stay. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely perfect

We had a great stay. The cabin was in perfect condition -- with dishes, towels, everything we could possibly need. And beautifully decorated. The pier was stunning. We'd come back in a heartbeat and stay again.

Weekend getaway

Best family weekend getaway before school starts again. The Rum Runner Cabin exceeded all expectations. The host was overly accommodating and the s'mores kit was a great touch. Even our teenager loved the trip! Putting this down as one of the places we will make a return trip to.

Rum Runner Rustic Retreat

Not only is this property historic, but the land it sits on is breathtaking. From miles and miles of marshland to the trees that surround the cabin. Most everything is thought of -coffee & Smores, to fishing poles & crab traps. Highly recommend, 5 Stars!

Just perfect

Impeccable cabin, grounds, pool, and amenities. Wonderful hospitality. 10 out of 10 on everything. Loved walking down the pier for sunset. John was a gracious host and welcomed us as if we were at a five star resort. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday!

Rum Runner Did Not Disappoint

This was the perfect little cabin in the perfect location. This property is breathtaking and the cabin had everything we needed. John was the best property manager making sure everything was perfect. We caught crabs right off the dock and they were the perfect addition to our Frogmore Stew. We will be back!

Our stay at Emma’s Driftwood Farm was one of the most peaceful we’ve had. We were the only ones on the property and spent the days fishing, swimming, and enjoying the wild diversity the marsh has to offer. Our little cabin was pristine and perfect. Thank you to the entire staff who make their guests feel so welcome and cared for. There is healing happening in this former plantation.

Amazing and so Relaxing

I cannot say enough about this place! We stayed in the Rum Runner cabin. So cozy and well stocked… full kitchen is great; we cooked most nights. We fished off the dock every day. Dolphins were swimming by the first eve and even had a manatee hang out with us for about 1/2 hour! Cannot wait to come back! Jen and Brooks

Quiet retreat

Run Runnner’s was just as we left it a year ago. Perfect. Except that they added a fabulous pool and pool house. So it was even better.

Excellent Escape!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and hidden elegance of Rum Runner's Cabin. The southern charm blended with amazing marsh views, comfortable amenities and thoughtful care from our hosts led us to one of the best getaways we've experienced. We departed highly fulfilled and felt we had lived out an article we would see in Garden & Gun. A definite repeat for us, Emma's Driftwood Farm is truly a gem.

Weekend Getaway

We had a weekend getaway at Rum Runner cabin, and it has overall been my favorite vacation since my spouse and I have started vacating together. I have never been surprised with such amazing gifts. The farm fresh eggs were amazing while sitting on the porch drinking coffee. We enjoyed fishing out on the dock, and grilling with a nice campfire. Will definitely be coming back!!!

Incredible Property

My husband and I had an incredible weekend at Emma’s Driftwood Farm! The property was immaculate. We stayed in the Rum Runner cabin and it was the perfect space for us. We took full advantage of all the property had to offer and utilized the bikes, fishing gear, pool, seafood boil pot, crab pots and grill- this property has it all! We did a fishing charter with Mad Shark and highly recommend, they will pick you up from the dock! We will absolutely be back for another weekend away at Emma’s!

Peaceful Hideaway

We had the entire 81-acre property to ourselves (we didn't realize it was deer fly season LOL) and enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in the Rum Runner's Cabin which was immaculately clean throughout, had nice towels and linens, it was a few steps from the boardwalk to Knox Creek Dock and has an interesting history. We were charmed by the antique rum bottles on the shelves and a "Wanted" poster of a bootlegger. Worth noting in case it's a challenge: the bathtub is a clawfoot tub. John made both our arrival and stay welcoming and comfortable with all the niceties you could wish for: wine, charcuterie, coffee, tea, a dog biscuit for our fur baby and more. The peaceful setting was a welcome respite from street noise and light pollution in our area.

Just go!! You won't regret it!

My husband and i spent 3 nights at the Rum Runners Cabin, The location was phenomenal, the beauty of the marsh is captivating. The cabin had everything we needed. The AC worked great and the linens and bed were nice so we slept great. The kitchen could have been stocked better but it had enough to make do. Hunter and John were great and easy to communicate with. John left a great care package with wine and cheese for us and a welcoming note. Darien is a very quaint town and worth the trip! Jekyll and Cumberland are not far away and worth the trip!

Great Property!

Everything was top notch...just like the pictures. Very clean and well appointed! Beautiful indoors and out. Pros: the charming aesthetic and lots of extras (from the “welcome” cheeseboard and wine, firewood, extra toothpaste and blankets) and the property manager, John, was very responsive. Cons: Lots of bugs on the dock if the breeze was still (but you are on the coast/marsh of GA) and there was only a claw foot tub indoors with a handheld sprayer for your hair (no indoor stand up shower option). Regardless, we would absolutely stay here again. The property was beautiful with large oaks and a long dock with fishing and crabbing supplies included. Thank you for sharing your an amazing place with others!

Peaceful, beautiful, well-managed

I'm home now in New England, & woke up this morning still expecting to open my front door to see the sun rise over the marsh, & to walk out onto the boardwalk over it. The sun was shining, the birds were calling, & I was filled with peace & the expectation of another relaxing day. Relaxation is the key word here! I went on a few excellent walks & runs, read, watched a movie, cooked...just what I was looking for. Bonuses were the fire pit & the supplies to make s'mores, stars, the treats that greeted us upon arrival, & the helpfulness of the staff. Visit the Fort King George! Close by, and interesting. My 14 year old also managed to enjoy himself, but he wished the forest were more vast for long stretches of exploration; the "nature trails" are quite short. The marsh was so beautiful, we all wished that we could have taken a little boat out, but there didn't seem to be a way to do that. The pool was not warm enough for swimming in December, & we longed for a hot tub. The tub in the cabin is a claw one & not the ideal shower experience. I just learned that my husband took the bags of coffee home—he missed the little card indicating that we'll be charged for them! Also--if you like organic food, don't wait until you get to Darien to stock up. If you like fried food, you'll have plenty of options for dining out! These are not complaints, just little things to be aware of. Overall we loved our stay and would return.

Perfect remote cabin

We really enjoyed the cabin for our long weekend. The size was perfect for our family of four. The master bed was actually very comfortable for a rental. The owners left perfect little extras for us that made our stay a little bit "sweeter". The amenities include were prefect for a southern weekend. It was like living in a Nicholas Sparks book for the weekend.

Serenity and nature at its finest

Absolutely stunning location and the cabin was more lovely than we even expected. The grounds are kept impeccably, kudos to the groundskeepers! This trip was exactly what we wanted it to be for relaxation and escape and as nature lovers, it hit the nail on the head! The only issue we have is that we couldn’t stay longer. I don’t even have enough time Or space to go into the attention to detail! Just wow! We will definitely be back for another visit…with a longer stay!

Stunning

Property is just as pictured. Stunning surroundings and cabin. Host left treats and wine along with a welcome note. Beautiful area to ride their provided bikes in. Locals were super frie dly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!
