We booked and paid in advance for a room with two queen beds. When we arrived at the property, we were told to come back after 3 PM because only king rooms were currently available, but that the queen room listed on our reservation would be ready later. We did as instructed and returned after 3 PM, only to be told the hotel was completely sold out and there were no queen rooms available.
Unfortunately, we had no other option and had to take the room provided, which resulted in me sleeping on the pull-out couch. The pull-out bed had no sheets or comforter, and the mattress still had plastic on it — which, considering the hotel is new, was probably a good sign cleanliness-wise, but it clearly had not been prepared for guests.
When I went downstairs to request bedding, the staff seemed irritated and essentially handed it to me with little concern. To make matters worse, two of the pillows provided were visibly dirty. Throughout the hotel, trash cans were overflowing both inside and outside, and dirty dishes had been left sitting around the upstairs common areas.
It’s possible the hotel was short-staffed, but overall the experience was disappointing, especially considering this is a brand-new property and we had high expectations. The positives were that the hotel was new and I did appreciate that the rooms had no carpet.
