The shower ws a hand-held unit but the mount on the wall was broken, so you had to hold in one whad wile washingwiththe other, and the spray was so fine, the water was cold by thetime it hit my skin if I held the shower head more than a few inches away. The AC was old andI neededthe clerk's help to get it started. The desk clerks were very nice and helpful. There's no restaurant or convenience store on the premises, but there are some decent restaurants nearby. I had booked for 4 nights with a convention, but it was over on Sunday and I canceled my 4th night there and found a decent hotel near the Night Market.

Pictures look good. Reality it is DIRTY!

Pictures looked like a decent hostel. With a nice size room and bunk bed. Reality room was cramped, too small for 3 sets of bunk beds. Almost canโ€™t even fit inbetween. They squeaked nonstop. And the mattress was not a mattress at all however instead a outdoor pad that looked like it came off a lawn chair. The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on, felt like a wood board. The room had a consistent mildew stink. Upon entering the bathroom I was less than pleased to find an abundance of black mold encasing the entire shower. However worse was that after running the sink to wash my hands I found that the water running out was a murky brown color, with chunks in it. So washing hands and showering became almost impossible. Brushing teeth was done only with bottled water. I would equate this stay to a small prison sentence. 10/10 do not recommend. However the staff was very kind, but non English speaking.

Basic but cheap

I've never stayed at a YMCA before, so maybe they're all like this? The hotel was large and the staff were lovely. The furnishings in the room were worn down (the leather sofa was cracked) but the bed was comfortable enough and the shower was hot. I mostly just slept there so it was fine. I didn't have any luck with the wifi, which was a bummer, but also not the biggest deal. Don't stay there if you want to be in the center of it all or have fast wifi. Do stay there if you need somewhere cheap to crash for a night or two.

Comfy spacious rooms Quite a walk to the main area of Chiang Mai, and any shops like 7/11 When booking we understood that there would be a pool, we arrived and they said the pool had been gone for quite a while Remember this is a YMCA, no alcohol served on site with other strict rules Otherwise a nicely set out clean hotel
